I hope so! thank you again for your input.
anyone else have thoughts?

Standardized test scores are exceptional, your extracurriculars are superb, and your personal issue with cancer(hope everything is well/gets better) make your application very strong. Just maybe provide one more test score? SAT subject tests in maybe bio/math II?

took bio and got a 700 don’t think it’s very good so wasn’t planning on sending
thank you for your input! and glad you think my act and ECs are up to speed!

ED Cornell - Match(Although it’s Ivy, I believe that your amazing stats + hooks will help you alot). You are a very strong candidate for Cornell, and your story will make you stand out from other applicants! Chance me back?

Whats your cumulative gpa? unweighted gpa

thank you very much! I will get on that

boby - 3.65

I would say low reach to reach school

erm sorry if I come off as a tad upset in this reply but im not using it as sympathy at all…i sure hope I did not come off that way I wanted to give context but it was truly a traumatic experience
I agree with you it is a huge reach as I said in my post
my skin cancer unfortunately was not resolved with a simple surgery. doctors found it very late and it was a long experience.
but thank you for your thoughts though, I appreciate it

If it really was then I am incredibly sorry, I think it was just the way you came off especially in your EC’s listing how much you make per month for example.

no no you don’t need to apologize, you didn’t know and you don’t know me in real life so it’s really okay.
yeah I should elaborate on that
I’ve been in the modeling industry since I was 13. every time i do a shoot (1-3 times per month) i make around 1k sometimes more sometimes less. I know this might seem odd to a person who does not know the industry well, but this is generally how it works at my level. technically my parents get the money since im under 18 by the way, but we mostly put in savings.

Upward trend with the grades looks really good, top-notch ACT score, very unique work. Make sure your essay is not a sob story or cliche. The fact that you’re hispanic also plays in your favor. Good number of APs. All in all, you have a good shot of getting in. I’d give it about a 65% chance? Good luck.

i made sure it wasnt a sob story
99% of the essay was positive, the only negative sentence was about my diagnosis. other than that the essay focuses on my transformation as a person and why i want to devote my life to cancer research

thank you for your comment!

Wow your app is very unique and will definitely stand out in the sea of Cornell apps. Your balance of academics and scores matched with your ECs is a winner. I would be surprised if you didn’t get in!

Good Luck

thanks bound4harvard
i just looked at your chance thread…jaw drops
i wish you the best of luck youre one of the most qualified people i know
you should be so proud of yourself no matter what :)

Dream111, you are an inspiration I honestly can’t see any schools rejecting you and definitely not Cornell. You are as close to a sure thing as it gets.

Chance Back:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1532089-chance-me-will-chance-back.html

I thank you so much that is so thoughtful of you to say to me. It still is a large stretch though. But your words make me feel a lot better i still can’t believe I actually get the opportunity to apply to college I feel very blessed now.

I think that for you it doesn’t really matter what your objective scores are at. Your story cuts through all of that; at the end of the day I think that’s what really sets the accepted people apart from everyone else. I don’t see how you could miss Cornell. (Or even HYMPS)

Chance me back? Thanks in advance.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1572861-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

that’s a huge statement to make thank you for saying that, Im still of course not too confident in my chances at cornell
it’s just so many times I get upset that I got cancer i never wanted it I didnt want my grades to suffer it makes me so mad but I’ve learned to move on from it and I think that’s the important thing about me, not my illness

I think that’s really commendable of you. Not giving up and refusing to let life beat you down. I’ve had some people close to me get cancer, and more often than not they end-up giving up. And the fact that you didn’t says something about your character.
