Chance me for ED next year

By next year this is what I’m on track to have.

SAT: First try:610, 690, 780= 2080, I will take it again (projected)SUPERSCORE= 2150-2200
GPA: W: 4.1 UW 3.85
AP Tests: Sending somewhere around 6 with 4 and 5’s.
Course Rigor: This is my only downside, I did take some non-honors classes and missed out on some AP classes.

Clubs: President of Geography Club, President and founder of Youth Democrats Club, Member of Peer Advisory Club

Work: Internship at Solana Beach City Hall

Volunteer: 4th grade basketball coach for 3 years, camp counselor, Temple volunteer, San Dieguito River Conservatory with the rangers, Teen Volunteers in Action ABOUT 400 HOURS IN TOTAL.

Sports: 9th grade JV Basketball and Track, 10th grade JV basketball and V Track, 11th grade Co-Captain of Squash team, JV Cross Country and V Track, 12th grade Co-Captain of Squash team, JV Cross Country and V Track.

Other: White and Jewish. Upper middle class.

ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT:

I made a political/history website and formed an empire of friends to help me make it famous. (not yet launched)

Also, I might be recruited for Squash or long jump, not sure yet, in the spring I will talk to coaches.

I might also do a political science summer camp this summer but not sure. Also, I’m really bummed out about my course rigor, like 1 AP 10th grade, 3 11th grade, and 4 12th grade. Is that O.K.

Plus I live in San Diego if that changes anything. I think its physically impossible to to live any farther away from the school while staying in the 48 contiguous states.

Being from California will help, it’s not like you’re from New England or New York, but Bowdoin has a good number of California students. The Midwest and South are much more lightly represented.

Your course rigor should be fine, as should your GPA and test scores. Nothing is a certainty, all you can do is be in the ballpark academically and then be interesting enough for them to want to include you on campus. If you can be good enough to be recruited athletically, then you should definitely pursue that angle.

Thanks for easing my mind, I was scared because I didn’t take that many honors classes. And I’m not yet sure about Track and Field. This year I’m going to try to long jump 20 feet and see what that does.

Bowdoin’s top jumper at the NESCAC Championship this year hit 21.5 ft, so you might get some interest if you can hit 20 ft as a junior in HS.

[NESCAC Men’s Result 2013](http://athletics.bowdoin.edu/sports/mtrack/2012-13/files/2013_NESCACS_men_results.htm)

Thanks I’m working on it. I went to Stanford Track and Field camp over summer and gained some new techniques for this year.

Oh last question. If I jump 20 feet this year would you suggest that I do the online recruitment questionnaire of do you think I should just email the coach directly.

Do I do this [Prospective Track & Field Student Interest Form - Bowdoin](http://athletics.bowdoin.edu/information/prospect/forms/track) or should I email the Long Jump coach directly?

I’m really not an expert at how athletic prospects work, there’s a forum here for that. The interest form would be a good place to start, and talk to your track coach as well - they’ll know the drill about not violating certain rules.
