Chance Me for ED Please? :)

Hey guys! Hearing about the ED release date getting moved up made me super nervous and I'm wondering if anyone could chance me. Thanks in advance :)

Essays:
My common app essay could have been better, but I still feel confident in that essay and all my short answers. My cousin's friend, who's on Columbia's alumni board, read them and thought they were great, as did my AP Lit teacher and my tennis coach (who is also an English professor)

Recommendations: Great :D

Interview: Went very well, turns out we went to the same high school and had similar teachers so there was lots to talk about. It was very conversational and very enjoyable.

I think my ECs are okay, but academics is where I'm struggling. Any input is appreciated :) Thanks so much, and best of luck to all of you!

haha, thanks nondairycreamer. Out of curiosity, can you tell me why you think that? :)

At first, I was like “oh, a native american, most definitely.” Then, as I read on, I realized you are also an extremely qualified candidate. I would count on a fat envelope if I were you.

haha, ok,
well partly mustangman’s reason. you are native american, that gives you a HUGE advantage.

Also, you are very qualified. You have stellar scores, and good leadership positions. As for the essay and recommendation, I can’t say.

Thanks for the responses nondairycreamer and mustangman. I’m only a small portion of Native American though, definitely not a majority, but I guess that doesn’t matter because there’s no way to indicate my “racial makeup” (just made up that term) on commonapp.

Just wondering, do you guys think that my grades and scores will lower my chances significantly? I’m afraid I didn’t even make it to the committee since those seem to be the first factors they look at.

Absolutely not. Your scores are fantastic. Do not worry about them. 2190 is pretty much at the 50% mark of all accepted students. And, I really don’t mean to delve into the biases against Native American applicants, but I have read that is well over the 50% mark of accepted Native American applicants. Your scores are fantastic, arguably better than my own. I would rather be in your shoes than my own. I hope I’m being clear about this, if not, maybe this will get to the point… enjoy morningside heights next year.

Lol, thanks so much for the input. I guess we’ll see how it goes on Thursday! Best of luck, guys :)
