<p>I'm a black male applying in the fall, educated at a private school, my mom graduated from the Harvard School of Public Health.</p>

<p>Out of all my courses where Honors or higher was available, I was only forced to take one regular course. Rest have all been Honors or AP. Total of 4 AP's so far, will have 7 total. Also, school has a 3 AP course cap per year unless you get special approval.</p>

<p>You are a viable applicant, but as so much of the admission process depends on comparing your transcript, stats, essays, EC’s and teacher recs to other applicants who have similar stats, no one can truly say what chance you have.</p>

<p>BTW: Legacy status only applies to Harvard College, so your mom having graduated from Harvard’s School of Public Health will not help you.</p>

<p>According to this page, SCEA doesn’t offer a substantial increase in chances. They accept more people because they have so many amazing students applying early!</p>
