Even though I'm applying ED to Tufts (I love everything about it!), just out of curiosity, do you think I have a shot at any of the Ivies? Thanks again everyone!

You are a very solid applicant, so your ED chances at Tufts are quite good. With the borderline exception of the SAT CR score, your “numbers” are strong, so it will all come down to how you convey your “voice.” Choose the teachers who will do your recs wisely, and write a great essay that really conveys something about you, and you should be in pretty good shape.
Good luck.

P.S. If you really want to be at an Ivy school, don’t apply to Tufts EDI. You would have a pretty decent shot at Cornell, but a lesser shot at the others.

I’m actually not sending in my SAT I scores, but I figured I would just post them on here anyway. I know my critical reading scores are low (I chose not to study for the standardized tests, which was probably a mistake on my part) which is why I’m not sending them. I already checked with Tufts, and it’s OK that I’m only sending my ACT and SAT II subject tests. I’ve been told that both my common application and supplement essays show my personality without blatantly describing it, and I have my heart set on Tufts which is why I am applying EDI. I never planned on applying to any Ivy League schools, I was just curious to see if I was a competitive applicant.

Thanks for your insight!

Not even worth applying to tufts. you don’t stand a chance

Sorry, but as a new member with less than 30 posts, I’m not sure if I can trust your judgement. Thanks for bumping the thread though!

Sbu > sccc> tufts

I’m pretty sure undertaker was being sarcastic (at least I’m hoping). You’re definitely a qualified applicant. Write great essays that make you stand out and hope for an acceptance. As far as Ivies go, you’d probably have a shot at Cornell, Penn, or Dartmouth, but HYP would be a reach, as always. They’re difficult to chance since so many qualified applicants are turned away, but that’s my opinion.

Undertaker is actually my friend, we were both just kidding around :)

Thanks!

I have no idea who senioritis11 is…

definitely agreed. not a chance at tufts.

Yeah Tufts is actually a really selective school. i knew someone with a 2360 in the top 5 percent who was waitlisted. I know this other person who was number four in his class who got rejected from Tufts. You should definitely try to apply, but don’t get your hopes up too high. You might just be helping their low acceptance rate stay low. Good Luck.

You have a decent chance at Tufts if you ED. I would recommend just sending the ACT scores (your ACT works out to about a 2300 according the ACT website). Good luck!

gerogedomat, lol not a chance at tufts? are you kidding? Stop bashing people, hoping that you will make them feel bad, and then they will not apply to the school. If someone asks for a chance me, give them an accurate opinion. Do not tell them they can’t get in, so you can “increase” your chance of getting into a particular school. BTW, you have 2 posts LOL.

one of my friends got a 1300/2400 on his sats and he currently attends tufts. just throwing that out there…

1300/2400? you sure you don’t mean 1300/1600?

no, out of 2400.

^^Okay, what are you not telling us, since obviously 1300/2400 is a horrible score? (Heck, it’s hard to get in with 1300/1600.)
That was a huge strike against him; so what did he have in his favor? What was the hook?
