Went to PAVE Program at Vanderbilt. Got a letter of recommendation from one of the professors and former deans.

2 other recommendations from AP Physics and AP Enviro teacher (also cross country coach). Probably very good, but waived my rights to see them. Also a recommendation from my dean from school.

Had an interview with an alumni, went alright, nothing amazing.

Intended Major: Biomedical Engineering

Applying to: Vanderbilt School of Engineering

If there’s such a thing as a shoe-in, you’ve got to be one. I’d be very surprised if you didn’t get in.

Thanks man, but i’m just worried about the SAT score because they only use your double score for admission. I just wish I could be evaluated on my 790 writing also! lol oh well though

I hear ya, your SAT is right at the 25th percentile. I think they will see your high GPA and especially AP scores. None of us are guarantees, still. Best of luck to you! I’m applying for BME as well.

False, the 25-75th percentile for those attending the engineering school is 1440-1570. Your SAT I really hurts you, but the 800 Math SAT II and 5 on AP Lang should help compensate. Normally I’d say very low chance, but you have a lot of things going for you. Applying ED1 might just be the push you need to get in. Good luck!

Yeah, i’m worried about the SAT double score. If i wouldve known they only cared about double score i wouldnt have even studied for writing lol. But I hope PAVE and the recommendation i got from one of the former deans/professors and ED1 can help.

where are you from? and what type of school do you attend?

I go to a large public high school from South Florida that’s ranked #49 by the Washington Post

wanderers, where did you get this information? Vandy doesn’t release the percentages for individual schools, and my adcom said the difference between schools was hardly significant.

it’s public information on vanderbilt’s website. ill be intentionally coy since handing out the answers to a test is boring. expend some effort and you’ll find it. hint: it’s not in the admissions section

I see on the engineering page that the median SAT is 1464…interesting. I applied ED with a 1400, we’ll see what happens. (last year I was waitlisted RD with a 31)
