intended major: Math/econ

Two people from my school were admitted to Bowdoin last year, both applied early decision, and they both have lower stats than me.

I really liked both Wellesley and Bowdoin at first, and chose Wellesley over Bowdoin because of the location… Now I guess I’m just not right for a women’s college. heh.

Also, I have two recommendation letters from Bowdoin alumnus. One is my economics teacher and the other one is my advisor, and I’m sure both recommendations will be good. How much would that help?

Thank you in advance for chancing me!

I think if you look through a couple of the threads here you will find some suggestions regarding the test optional issue. Seems to me you would only send the your SAT2 scores. As you say, your critical reading score isn’t stellar and probably doesn’t represent you as well as many of your other statistics do. You definitely have a good chance. Take a good look at your essays one more time to make sure that they demonstrate you and your passions. Keep in mind, you weren’t rejected by Wellesley, you were deferred. Your goal now is to try to tighten up anything you can.

Good luck!

Gvamom, thank you! I think unless I get a 700+ CR score on my December SAT, I won’t choose to send my SATs.
