Chance me for Emory/Tufts ED!!! I will chance back!

its high 1800’s. I appreciate the advice but can you please chance me.

No one has asked this, which do you like better? I wouldn’t apply to one just based off of thinking you need to apply to one ED. Is financial aid a consideration? Is your SAT super scored?

SAT not superscored. I basically like them both equally. They are my two most realistic top choices. Financial aid is not a consideration.

Most realistic? You mean you are trying for harder schools? I think you just need to think about which one you like more and not do it off of what would be easier.

I mean my favorite school is U Penn. There is absolutely no way i will get into upenn. So emory and tufts are still two of my top choices. I really want one to get into one of them. I dont have a preferance between the two. Please tell me which one you think i could get into?

Tufts you pretty much have no chance. Emory there is a little little chance (below 10% I would say) and that’s only because you might apply ED.

thank you for being honest.

Again, how many times have you taken the SAT? Are you certain that the 1800s are your peak?

You could apply to Oxford College and Emory College at Emory University. If you are admitted to Oxford but not Emory College, everyone at Oxford transfers to Emory in their junior year and you graduate with the exact same diploma from Emory that you would have if you had gone to Emory College from day 1.

It’s a little confusing, but you could apply to Emory ED and Oxford RD. If you are admitted to Oxford but not Emory, you would have until the spring to decide what to do.
You could also apply to BOTH Oxford and Emory ED (this is allowed, see link below), and if you are admitted to both, you then have to pick. But under this scenario, if you are admitted to Oxford but not Emory, you would have a binding commitment to Oxford, so it sounds like the first option above might be better for you.

What is the difference between oxford and emory?

Both schools are reaches. I know someone who just got into Tufts ED with a 3.5 and a 2200, but he had a good essay and ECs related to his major. Not too sure on Emory/Oxford. I think you’d need some really good essays, ECs, and recs to offset your grades and scores. Good luck!

The Oxford campus is about a 40 minute drive from Emory College in Atlanta. It is only for freshmen and sophomores, and you get a liberal arts college type of experience for the first two years before transferring to Emory College in Atlanta. Both are part of Emory University.

Oxford is a little easier to get into. The scores and GPA of admitted students are a little lower than the Emory College profile.

There are lots of threads discussing the two on the Emory message boards. You should visit Oxford and see what you think.

ok, thanks! With my scores, do you guys think i could get into Oxford College RD?

SAT is killing you. Both are reaches.

There are no guarantees but you are in the ballpark for Oxford. It will help if you have had a rigorous courseload. It depends on the rest of your package, but it looks from the numbers like you would definitely have a shot.

Emory and Tufts are all reaches. You can try Brandeis, may be a little easier.
