please chance me for emory college, sociology department, and if you’re super nice please also chance me for wake forest and georgia tech~ I love these three schools.
My safety school will probably be a community college in California if i’m not accepted by these three universities, since I’ve got relatives nearby California.
Thank you good ladies and gentlemen~~

Whoa! Sorry, I don’t do chances, since I am not an adcom. But I am struck by this quote: ‘My safety school will probably be a community college in California if i’m not accepted by these three universities.’

That is a huge gap between community college and Emory/Wake/Georgia Tech. (Ok, I said I would not chance, but I’d bet you’d get into Wake and GaTech, and ED at Emory looks good). You do not need financial aid, and this is a huge advantage, as you would not need to compare fin aid offers.

But just in case you do not get into one of these 3, there are a hundred great colleges you could get into. Are you focusing on large Southern schools? What about other areas of the US?

Thank you for your reply! My parents have some kind of stereotypes for a lot of good colleges in the U.S. (fordham and purdue, for instance, are the two univs that I really like) And they’ll only support me for my tuition if I got into the “good” schools… If I was rejected by those schools, they want me to be in california, living with my relatives and focus on transferring to the UCs. Maybe it’s a common korean-parent thingy…

Emory? Good choice! With your SAT score, I’d say you have pretty good chances! Good luck!

Don’t forget to check Oxford College on the application!
