Chance me for Emory!!

<p>I love Emory so much, and giving me a chance would be the most helpful thing in the world!
BTW, I'm going to be applying for Early Decision</p>

<p>SAT: 2080 (CR: 760, W:650, M: 670) (Going to be retaking this soon)</p>

<p>ACT: 33 (English: 32, Math: 28 :( , Reading: 35, Science: 35) (Going to be retaking this soon)</p>

<p>Taking two SAT subject tests soon, in literature and math 1</p>

<p>Rank: 45% ish...I really did not try at all in Freshman and Soph year and I go to an extremely competitive public school</p>

<p>GPA: 3.3-3.4 ~</p>

-Part of a organization that petitions against human-trafficking (I'm on the staff of it, but it's a very, very small organization)
-Editorial Intern on one magazine, and a First Reader on another magazine (In other words, I'm on the staff of two different magazines, and MAYBE a third one if I'm really lucky)
-Regularly volunteer at my Temple
-Part of a volunteer organization at my school
-Volunteer hours should be around 300+
-Accounting Club
-Interned underneath a psychiatric doctor at her clinic for about a month
-Shadowed a group of surgeons in India and watched them perform invasive heart surgery, spinal surgery, and neurosurgery. </p>

-Won two first place district prizes at Pin-Making and T-Shirt design in SkillsUSA
-Won the second place district prize at a writing competition
-Attended the Iowa Young Writers Studio (21% acceptance rate)
-Published in two journals, one for my fiction and another for my poetry
-Wrote a History Research paper for the Concord Review, hasn't been published, but I thought I would include it here anyway.

<p>Your GPA and rank are low and your scores aren’t really high enough to overcome that. Write a really good essay on why Emory is a good fit and also give some thought as to whether Oxford would be a good fit. If it is, apply; if not, please don’t. You can apply ED to Emory College and Oxford, you can apply to just one, or you can apply ED to one and RD to the other–all with the same app and materials. The decisions are made separately.</p>

<p>@aigiqinf‌ I heard that Emory really likes people who have lots of writing experience (due to them having a very good writing center), so wouldn’t that help?</p>
