Chance me for engineering school?

I'm a korean living in America. I do not have greencard yet. I applied for one, and there is some chance I'll get is before I go to college.

I'm a junior, currently going to Houston High School in Germantown, TN. This is one of the top schools in state. (or somewhere in the top)

My unweighed GPA is 3.81.
I took 3 honors every year in fresh and sopho, and am currently taking honors pre-cal, AP chem, APUSH, AP Bio, and standard computer and english.

I just took an ACT today, and think I did pretty well on it. Since my practice tests were 30 and 31, I'm expecting my ACT to be around 30~33 (I usually do better on real tests.)

I have kinda-good Extra curriculum. I played violin for 6 years. 3 years in memphis youth orchestra. Like to record musics. I'm self teaching myself classical guitar. I will be attending TN governor's school for engineering. Some of the club activities (most involvement - Acting in elementary schoold with PRIDE club - anti drug)
But most of all, I write novels. I'm very dedicated to this and currently have about 100 readers.
Black belt in taekwondo. About 5 years.

well.. I guess that's pretty much it.

I want my chances in Cal Tech, MIT, and Georgia Tech.

Also, to which kind of schools would I be able to get in with some sort of schorlarship? partial? full? (Engineering Schools PLZ)

plz anybody??????

If you have not received your green card by the time of application - then Caltech and MIT are going to be super huge reaches for you. They routinely reject internationals who won medals in one of the Olympiads (IMO, IPhO, etc...). GeorgiaTech would definitely be more of a match, especially if you don't need financial aid.

If you do get that 33 though, take a long look at UIllinois. Bar none when it comes to engineering, but 33 is about the cut off, especially being OOS.

Love the novel and self-taught music... but I think it's going to be very, very difficult for entry into Caltech or MIT.

Illinois perhaps... with citizenship.

Good luck!
