Chance me for engineering school?
I am currently a junior in that of NJ (GPA system may be different?)
These are my credentials thus far:
UW GPA: 3.889
W GPA: 4.226
(these are my cumulative GPA for fresh. and soph. year)

My weighted GPA should boost to 4.3+ and my unweighted should remain about the same.

SAT II's: Chemistry: 780
Math 2: 780
AP tests:
AP Physics B: 5
AP Chemistry: 5
I volunteer at the hospital with over 200+ hours. I also read for the deaf and blind (100+ hours) and I help teach disabled kids to play sports. (50 hrs)

I will be taking more AP classes and SAT II's such as Physics C (Physics with the calculus), AP Biology and AP Calculus BC. Multi-variable Calculus and Linear Algebra and all that good stuff by the time a graduate

I do Cross Country, Winter Track, and JV Volleyball (2 years) (planing on doing Spring track tho).

I participated in New Jersey Science League and placed top 100 in the state. I am also in the club JSA (Junior state of america) and Med- futures

SAT I: 2180 (one sitting)
Math: 740
Critical Reading:730
Writing: 710 w/ 10 on essay
(^^Kinda crappy...but this was my first SAT..I will be retaking for a higher Math score because I did not study for the math section for this exam. Expecting 770+ because of the harsh curve. My goal for the march exam is 2250 for more insight.)

Expected AP scores:
Calc BC: 5
Physics C E &M : 5
Biology: 5
I will also take the Physics Subject test and should get 780-800 cause I am in the AP class.

let’s just say my dad would have a mess in his pants if he had the chance to meet you (this is after getting ****ed that I don’t do enough community service).

btw I’m a berk applicant. at the time of applying I had a 4.1 weighted, 3.75 (?) unweighted, 33 on the ACT, 720 on Math II, 3 years varsity lacrosse, about 10 years of high-end ice hockey and sporadic community service involvement.

p.s. if anybody wants to kill 2 birds with one stone and chance me, i’d appreciate it.

Boost your SAT1 forsure and note that the engineering school does a even more holistic review than Berkeley already does. Also instead of just pure service, you might want to demonstrate leadership in whatever areas of interest. That’ll make you a more solid candidate. Also your weighted GPA is on the lower side. How many AP/Honors classes are you currently taking? It should be around 4.4-4.6 weighted.

for engineering make sure to put down the major you are considering. do not put down undecided (even if you genuinely are). The admissions committee views “decided” applicants (in college of chem and engineering) more favorably for some odd reason.

With the Engineering - Undeclared option, you have the ability to transfer into any of the engineering majors after your first two years at Cal, given that you have decent grades. I haven’t heard of anyone in Engineering - Undeclared that hasn’t been able to get the major they want. Given this super awesome perk, Engineering - Undeclared is supposedly harder to get into than the other engineering majors. So if you know what you want to do, apply for that. But don’t let me stop you from applying as Engineering - Undeclared if you truly have no idea what you want to do.
