ECs
5-6 sports at school level and captained my soccer school team

i am planning to give the SAT again in december..my scores will surely increase by 150-200

I would say you definitely need to up those SAT scores, especially for Engineering and wanting to start on the main campus. Find a good prep course and really work hard to raise the score. As a comparison my D applied to the Engineering school (hasn’t heard yet) and her SATs are 2100 and ACT is 31. Good luck–you can do it!

You might get in for the summer. As a freshman here at UP, I applied for computer science in the college of engineering and I got in to summer session.
Here were my stats:
MATH:710
CR:540
W:600

Xinzeli–I’ve seen a few people say that on here. I never heard that when we went to the info session in our area a few years ago-or at least I don’t remember hearing it1 Where did you get the info? I believe you guys but am just curious. Son’s GPA was 3.3 and I believe he kind of squeaked in…DD’s GPA is an unweighted 4.0 (with 8 APs) so I’m thinking she has no worries (but you never know). Just interesting that they don’t pay much attention to the SATs

They do, there is a threshold of sorts. If you have 600+ on each section, with a good GPA, that is good. If your SATs are lower, that is not so good, especially if your GPA is below around a 3.5 (weighted).

Here is a link to the bubble chart for 2010. It’s a little dated, but will give you a general idea where you stand.
