Chance me for Engineering

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I just got my priority consideration and I was deferred</p>

<p>What are my chances for college of engineering, with preferred major as mechanical</p>

<p>SAT - 2140 (cr 660, m 760 , w 720)</p>

<p>IB - 5 Math HL , 7 Physics HL , 7 Chem HL , 6 English SL , 5 German SL , 7 Economics SL</p>

<p>Activities -</p>

<p>MUN Club Member
School Art Club
School Physics Club
School Football Team
Scuba Diver
School Theatre club</p>

<p>Also, do I have a chance now that I am deferred, or is it basically a rejection?</p>

<p>Many get deferred. Majority of those deferred by engineering are eventually admitted.to the college.</p>

<p>Drusba, can you provide any info on why one application might be deferred when another of similar or worse stats is accepted. Given that UIUC will not even look at 7th semester grades, how does one strengthen their application to be “acceptable”? </p>

<p>Lastly just want to get off my chest, I am frustrated as an U of I alum that had I gone to Michigan or Purdue my child would have benefitted from that (as they care about legacy) but not at my own alma mater.</p>
