Chance Me for Finalist Please!

Hey guys, I’m applying to Questbridge this year and it would be so great if you guys can chance me for finalist.
Background: international student, just learn english 4 years ago :), both parents unemployed :frowning: , currently have to live with a relative. Her income is low also and have to receive federal aid. And er… can you say your parents are illegal immigrants on the app…?

Stats:
SAT: 2270
AP: US History (5), European history (5), calculus ab (5), psychology (5)
SAT Subject Test: SAT Math II (have not taken but expect 700+), SAT Biology M
Senior year course load: ap calculus bc, ap us government and politics, ap chemistry, anatomy, creative writing/drama, dual enrollment for English, and self-studied AP literature (where would I put this on app?)
Online course: Fundamentals of neuroscience given by Harvard, and war for the greater middle East by Berkeley University

Extracurricular:

  • Found an organization/charity/business that sell items to raise money for women in third world countries
  • Found SAT Club in my school, where I tutor low-income kids for free
  • Model UN (President), won a regional award
  • Yearbook (editor and chief writer)
  • Medquest (a medical education program). I aspire to be a doctor :smiley:
  • NHS
  • Volunteer at local hospital during summer
  • Trommons Translator: where I translate educational brochure from English to Vietnamese for people living in housing community and senior
  • Boston Busing Project: a project by Northeastern University. I transcribe interview of people who live in desegregation era
  • Informed by Nature, Inc: I write a few articles for science website

Awards: AP Scholar with Honor, President Education Award (does this count? it was given by barack obama to student who earn 85% on their testing and good GPA), 70% scholarship to a boarding school in Boston (but i still cannot go because my family was too poor to afford it :(), Rotary Youth Leadership Award, St Peter’s University Model UN Best Delegation Award, some minor awards in school like Dean’s List…etc.

I also won around 6 minor writing, essay awards because I had a great passion for literature. I learn english just four years ago but I felt deeply in love with the language and adored classics novel :slight_smile:

You are competitive, honestly. Comes down to your essays in the end.

@FireBallsDJ Questbridge says according to the page is it opens to all “Students, regardless of citizenship, currently attending high school in the United States.” I am on a legal visa F1 and I am attending a high school in US. My parents are not legal, that’s all. Thanks for your replies. With that being said, can you chance me? :slight_smile: Thanks a lot!

That I can’t help you with. You should ask/email QB yourself, they are really helpful.

Feel free to mention that your parents are illegal aliens if you think it’s relevant and adds to your overall application. They won’t hold it against you.
