Chance me for GA Tech Please

SAT Score: 1900
670 - CR and Math. 560 in Writing. I am planning on studying and retaking the SAT in October of my senior year and hopefully get at least a 2000.
GPA: 3.8 unweighted

I'm a junior currently. I am an Indian (from India) Male. I live in GA.

Sophomore Year: AP9USH (4), AP Lang (3)
Junior Year: AP Stat (3) , AP Comp Sci (Sadly I failed with a 2) , AP Chem (didn't take) , AP World History (4)
Senior Year: AP Macro, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Euro History (I plan on taking all the exams)

Extracurricular - National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, FBLA, Beta Club, Relay for Life

Achievements - 1st in Regional, 2nd in Sate, and got into top 15 in Nationals

So what are my chances? Let's say I did Early Action, what are my chances with my current GPA and curriculum but with a 1900 SAT and with a 2000 SAT (Like chances of getting accepted, deferred, or even denied)? How important is the essay if I decide to go with normal appication?

Good GPA, but try and raise up your SAT Score. You may want to try the ACT- I found it preferable.

Lucky for you, you don’t have to submit the AP exam scores that you don’t want to.

How extensively involved are you with extracurriculars? You could use a little boost there. I don’t know about your school, but NHS involvement in mine is basically volunteering for 3 hours once a quarter and that’s it- hardly an EC.

All in all, you’re a good candidate, but get those scores up!

Chance me back please.

Oops. I meant to mention that the achievements were for FBLA

Yeah. Some of the honor societies are just volunteering for a few hrs but it is an extra boost I guess. I’m going to try to study and ace the next SAT :)

I’ll chance you back to the best of my ability!

EDIT: I do volunteer with a Malayalee Catholic TV Channel called Divine TV (I was one of the people who help started and maintain the channel originally and it can be found on Roku, youtube, official website, etc) plus my school requires 20 hrs of community service per year so I have that.

I can get proof or a letter of recommendation from the leader of the channel to send to GA Tech (if there is a spot for that on the application) so how much will that help me?

Unfortunately, even a 2000 SAT might be a little low for Tech. S was wait listed this year, with around 2070 (including 780 Math) and well over 4.0 (W), top 10 percent. Oh, and really good ECs (including class VP, paper EC, and a ton of community service). He didn’t accept the wait list offer, so who knows whether he’d have gotten in.

You have time though. Good luck.

With your GPA and SAT you need to do early action. Remember they are going to the common app so you will have a lot more competition. Your essay will be very important.
There are a lot of in state kids that want to go to GT and use the Zell Miller scholarship.
Take the ACT and also try to raise your SAT up to at least a 2100. Good luck.

Alright. My goal is 2100 on Oct SAT
