Georgia Tech has always been my dream college but I am not aware of my chances of getting in. As for my credentials:
ACT- 33(comp) 35 M 34 R 33 S 31 E
My GPA is more than a 4.0 and numerical is 97.167. By the end of my senior year I will complete the following higher level classes:
A.P. Psych (I made a 106 on it- 99 without the 7 A.P. points and 5 on the AP exam)
A.P. Chem
A.P. Comp. Sci.
AP Calculus AB
College English 1101
College English 1102
As for extracurriculars, I am a part of the Indian Cultural Club in our school. I compere/anchor for different professional programs hosted by TANA (Telugu Association of North America).
I want to go for a TAG internship next semester.
I applied early to GA Tech and I think that my essays are decent.
I am in-state.
I transferred to my current high school in the middle of 11th grade and my previous school (located in another country) had nothing called “more rigorous classes”. Everything was on-level there.
As for ECs, I served in the school cabinet in my old school in one of the highest ranks available (Prefect In-charge). I do not play sports for my school.
I took prestigious exams like:
Australian Chemistry Quiz (by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute)
Got a distinction
Unified Cyber Olympiad
Ranked 167 nationwide in India
I have 1st place certificates in school level singing competitions, debate competitions and essay writing competitions from my old school.
What are my chances of getting into GA Tech?
I am Indian female if that helps. Thanks!
Also I will chance back…
Not sure about your EC’s but depending on your major you have a good chance based on GPA and Act
At this point, it might depend on what high school you are applying from. If you are in a highly competitive and Asian school, your academic rigor may not compare too well, but as long as you mentioned WHY you were unable to take “more rigorous courses”. I’m sure GT would want to know about your transfer in 11th grade.
Your grades are high, and ur ECs could work to your benefit if you express them genuinely and deeply (go more than just stating; talk about your emotional and cultural attachment/passion).
It’s definitely a plus to have good scores from international exams!
I personally think you have a good chance (maybe 80%?) based on scores.
I think you have a pretty good shot. It seems like you have really good grades and your test scores are definitely good. With good essays and really marketing your ECs, I think you can easily get in.

Thanks for your comments!
I’d feel pretty good about it with your stats.
@SouthFloridaMom9 lol your post makes me feel good. But, I can’t stand the stress for another month…I hope they let out admission decisions quicker.
Ha ha, I know it’s tough. My DS applied to GT too, and some other places. No matter what - you have what it takes to make it! Just keep that in mind!
PS: FSU comes out today and still no word. We empathize!
Thank you, and to you as well. :-bd
Your scores/GPA are definitely at par- if not more- as far as statistics is considered. Moreover, u definitely have an awesome chance as a female in CS (assuming u r applying for computer science, from the UCO award). I believe the in-state funda shall compensate for all other drawbacks to slide u to Tech. Best of Luck and Chill- what u can only do is just wait. Admissions are crap shots and our comments are mere speculations
Okay, so I’m just a student, so I may not be right or wrong…who knows?!
but ill try my best to give you my input:
Your numbers are good!
Your extra curricular- I have no idea(I’m completely different than you when it comes to this so I cant really compare you to the “pool”). But in my terms, its not too many. BUT, the fact that you anchored is an interesting factor!!
Your number of AP’s, cant say anything but avg student at tech takes 6-11. So a little on the low side, but since you have gone to an international school-its understandable. Plus, tech will also compare you to your different schools. They’ll see how you did at school a compared to the school pool and etc.
ACT good (I got the same, but in SAT conversion)!!
All in all, I think you have a shot! You have an excellent science/math background. Good luck!
P.S. if you want more “reviews” try collegeniche. And you can fill out your info and ppl will tell you what they think your chances are and what you should work on.
But keep in mind, that any of us could be wrong regarding your chances.
you’re stats are above average and your ECs are pretty solid as well. all in all, your chances at GA tech are pretty high! good luck!! nice job on all of your hard work it definitely paid off
