Chance me for Georgetown, Harvard, Columbia, Brown, Vanderbilt, and Rutgers

(Currently a junior)

Demographics: Caucasian/African-American, parents immigrated from Algeria so I have no clue what to really put so I place both, New Jersey public school in suburbs.

Intended major: History OR Biochemistry with premed pathway

Academics: ACT: nothing to see here SAT: 2330 (800 M, 790 CR, 740 W)
SAT II: 800 in World HIstory (Plan to take Biology E/M, Chemistry, and maybe U.S History)

Class Rank: Currently 1/382

UW GPA: 4.1/4.3 (No weighted gpa, around 3.9 to upper 3.8 gpa on 4.0 scale?)

Coursework: Currently in AP French, Precalc, Physics and Gym
Took AP U.S, AP Lang, French 4, and AP Chem
(7 APs and mandatory gym class next year)

AP Scores: 5 in AP Bio, AP Environmental, AP Macro
4 in AP World History (took SAT Subject test to “redeem” self)

Special Note: I took the AP Macroeconomics and was fortunate enough to be 1/22 in the world to get a perfect score.

Awards: -AP _____

-May earn something on NMSQT

-Won with Quiz Bowl team at regional tournament, will head to nationals in Chicago in June

Extracurriculars: Won sophomore class presidency, served term

-Captain of the aforementioned Quiz Bowl Team (basically get final decision on categories chosen and answers given more credence etc. during the game, )

-Second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do

-Participated at Rutger’s dentistry program for high schoolers ( applied to an oncology program there as well, awaiting notice)

-Founded school debate club

-Play in school jazz band as trumpet

Can note that I may receive a strong letter of recommendation with a history teacher I am good friends with. He went to Brown undergrad and Columbia grad and knows me well.

Overall I think it’s mainly my extracurriculars that need working on. I’m open to any suggestions as well for colleges. Thank you for your time! :slight_smile:

I think Algeria counts as white but if you can get that African-American checkmark, it would be a huge boost. An AA valedictorian with near perfect test scores has a good shot at pretty much everywhere I would think. Consider adding more reaches if this is the case. Your ECs are fine as well, if maybe a little scattered. Apply to maybe 8-10 schools, 2-4 safeties and matches combined and 6-8 reaches and you should end up with 2 or 3 very nice choices to pick from.
