Bump

@makhak As someone who just got into Middlebury last month, I think you have a good chance of getting into Midd. My mom graduated there in '91 and has held a lot of alumni meetings. I have listened to a lot of those meetings and I think that your resume is well rounded, making you a good candidate. Midd is a need-blind school so if you were to get in, they would pay for any costs that you couldn’t pay yourself.

Thank you so much for your answer! Congrats on being accepted!! I hope to maybe see you there!

“Midd is a need-blind school so if you were to get in, they would pay for any costs that you couldn’t pay yourself.”

A school’s being need blind has nothing to do with how much financial aid you might get; NYU is need blind but has a reputation for giving lousy FA; a need-aware school that meets full need is much better if you need aid.

@vonlost that’s helpful information thank you!!

@vonlost you are misunderstanding what @Midd2021 is saying. He is saying (correctly) that a need blind school will meet your need. The difference is that they will determine what your need is. Of course, the true definition of need blind is that you need will not determine whether you’re admitted or not. To be clear, Middlebury will meet 100% of your need.

“He is saying (correctly) that a need blind school will meet your need.”

Absolutely false. A need-blind school will admit you regardless of your need. A school that meets full need will meet your need.

I think you will get deferred at G’town EA, as EA at G’town is harder than RD. Midd and Tufts are long shots. You should be good for Tulane, Lewis&Clark and American. Good luck!

@wisteria100 Ya GU, Midd, and Tufts are my reaches but my act score was pretty average for all 3 so I think I might have at least a slight chance. Thank you!
