I would greatly appreciate as much input as possible.
I am a white male from a top ranked public school near Dallas.
I am ranked 60/780 (bad I know, but very competitive)
GPA is 5.45/5
5 AP classes Junior year
6 AP classes this next senior year
Mainly 5s on AP tests
SAT: 2230 (single sitting) breakdown is 690 CR, 800 math, and 740 Writing
ACT: 34 (not sure of breakdown)
ECs: 4 year varsity swimmer and captain of team, Interact rotary club president, founder/CEO of non profit, college ambassador, Boy’s state, Southwest youth leadership conference (named outstanding student and nominated for national competition), Special Olympics swimming volunteer, homeless shelter volunteer, part of two ministries that help kids with special needs and their families, apart of elite leadership organization that only 30 out of 200 were selected to, 20 hours per week of club swimming, counselor of camp where I lead middle schoolers up 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado, and other service clubs and school events.
I think your stats are great and your ECs are solid. Considering how high your GPA is I doubt your rank will be that much of a deterrent. I think definately have a chance at Georgetown W&L, UChicago, and Boston College. Yale would probably be a reach for you, but then again Yale is a reach for pretty much everyone. Good Luck!
Georgetown: match
W&L: match
UChicago: match
Yale: low reach
Boston College: match
I think that you have a pretty decent shot at getting into all of them. (I’m not sure about Yale- Yale is difficult to chance for everyone.) Your GPA, ACT, and SAT scores look really impressive. I think that will definitely make you look really competitive to college admissions. Rank isn’t as important as GPA, especially since your GPA is up there. You also have a lot of ECs, which is nice! The only suggestion I have is to try to get your SAT score up to look really competitive to Yale. Other than that, I’m sure you could get into any of the colleges on your list. Good luck!!
Chance me back please?

Chicago, with its 9% acceptance rate, is not a match for anyone.
I would say match for all especially BC my cousin got in with much worse stats. Yale is a reach by default because it’s just soo competitive. My friend was #1 in our class and got a 2340 SAT and he got rejected and went to Berkley instead.
Have you downloaded your high school’s profile? Might be helpful as this is what colleges will do in order to put your class rank and GPA in context. A truly competitive high school has average ACT/SAT close to 30/2000 and a very high percentage of students go onto 4 year colleges. I guess what I’m saying is that many students think their high schools is highly competitive but very few public high schools really stand out. The 5.45 is high number but what all these schools will do is restate your GPA on a 4.0 scale excluding PE and probably music are excluded. If your unweighted GPA is very high, say 3.9 or above, great. If it’s much below 3.85 not so great. I think you have a very strong application but how you describe your EC’s is going to be very important. BC is a slam dunk for you but the other colleges will have thousands of students with similar stats. If you are upper income white male non URM, legacy, athletics connection you are, in reality, competing for 25% of the spots. Given this, your EC’s need to be truly outstnding, your essays need to be superb and you had better think through ED very carefully.
What does your Non-Profit do?
@WJE9164be My school has a very high population of Asian American students which makes the school competitive. 99% of the graduating class goes to college. I would say about 50% is not intelligent and brings the average down, but fighting for a spot is extremely competitive. For example, I took 5 AP classes my junior year. The other two classes were taken up by my swimming. Even though my lowest grade was a 96 for that semester I got 20 ranks worse because I was not taking all 7 AP credits. And I am legacy at Yale and UChicago if that helps. Thanks for the input.
As a legacy, you’re probably a very competitive applicant for Yale or UChicago, although, as others have noted, both of those schools are notoriously difficult to get into.
@PartyNextDoor We are working with an orphanage in India to try to give their highschool aged students a shot at going to university. We pay for all application fees and college prep materials. We are also going work to see if we can get these students standardized tests near them.We hope to branch out to more than India in the future.
@Ballerina11 Thank you for the input!

There are some recent studies published on the impact of legacy status on seletive college admissions. If your parents went to U.Chicago and Yale with your very high SAT score, being a legacy improves your chances for these two schools by about 45%. By no stretch of the imagination does this make your admissions a certainty but this is a huge advantage
