Chance me for Georgetown, W&L, UChicago, Yale, and Boston College

Have you downloaded your high school’s profile? Might be helpful as this is what colleges will do in order to put your class rank and GPA in context. A truly competitive high school has average ACT/SAT close to 30/2000 and a very high percentage of students go onto 4 year colleges. I guess what I’m saying is that many students think their high schools is highly competitive but very few public high schools really stand out. The 5.45 is high number but what all these schools will do is restate your GPA on a 4.0 scale excluding PE and probably music are excluded. If your unweighted GPA is very high, say 3.9 or above, great. If it’s much below 3.85 not so great. I think you have a very strong application but how you describe your EC’s is going to be very important. BC is a slam dunk for you but the other colleges will have thousands of students with similar stats. If you are upper income white male non URM, legacy, athletics connection you are, in reality, competing for 25% of the spots. Given this, your EC’s need to be truly outstnding, your essays need to be superb and you had better think through ED very carefully.
