Chance me for GEORGETOWN - Will chance back

So Georgetown is my dream school. I'm applying to McDonough (the business school), which is slightly easier to get into than the college.

If you leave a link, I promise to chance back.

ACT: 33 (36 R, 34 W, 32 M, 30 S, 9 essay)
SAT superscore: 2090 (710 R, 700 W, 680 M, 10 essay) (taken twice)
SAT IIs: 750 Lit, retaking Math II in Jan (is accepted, practice tests say around 780, originally got a 660), sent all scores in (including bad original Math II as Georgetown doesn't participate in score choice). Not doing 3 SAT subjects, which is recommended, but not required, for Georgetown.

UW GPA: 3.69 (9th best public high school in the country)
Weighted GPA: 4.82
Class rank: (not sure what it is after this semester, mid-40s/365)

AP Scores I'm reporting: AP Psych (5), AP Lang (5), AP Gov (4), AP Macro (4), AP Micro (Senior), AP Calc AB (Senior)
Took 2 others that are on my transcripts but I didn't report the scores
IB: IB Chem SL, IB Bio SL, IB Math SL, IB Spanish SL, IB TOK, IB Econ HL, IB English HL, IB History HL (Basically full diploma + a IB chem certificate, all exams are senior year)
Dual Enrollment classes: 4 classes at the local college in the summer, all As, including Physics, counts towards GPA

Awards: AP Scholar w/Distinction (10) & Honor (11), National Merit Commendation, Track Improvement Award, FBLA Competition Award, Academic Games Competition Award, NHS, Honor Roll, Academic Achievement Awards in 9th & 11th

ECs (Leadership, Years): Global Community Service Club (President, 11&12), Political Forum (President, 12), FBLA (President, 9), Local Community Service Club (VP, 10&11), Class Secretary (9), SGA Representative (9), Debate (Secretary 9, Varsity 11), Psych Society (Treasurer, 11), Track Team (9,10,&12), Drama (Dance solo, 9), Chorus (Chosen for Mass Ensemble, 9), Cross Country (10), Key Club (9), Academic Games (10), student news (9)

Job: Private IB/AP Tutor
Volunteer Work: Ton of stuff, all part of clubs (listed 5 specific experiences on attached resume)
Summer Activities: Classes, Volunteer Work, Service Trips, wrote about volunteering at a local cancer center for one essay

Essays: Stellar - I did an out-of-the-box thing where I recorded my voice and uploaded it for a small optional prompt in the beginning, I wrote an essay on my experiences volunteering, my experience with working at cultural festivals which gives me a unique background, and how starting a chapter of FBLA has shaped my interest in business. I'm not trying to be conceited about how good my essays are, I just spent a TON of time on them and I'm a pretty good writer.
Teacher Recs: Good & Very Good
Counselor Rec: Good
Interview: Haven't done it yet

State: FL
School Type: Public, Magnet
Ethnicity: Not stated
Gender: Female
Languages spoken fluently and at home: English, Hindi, Spanish
Hooks: None

Strengths: Essays, ECs, ACT, course difficulty
Weakness: Not taking a third subject test, UW GPA

Other people applying in my school: 2 or 3 others; one with a much better GPA was differed early, but this person has terrible ECs. Other people have around my GPA, but worse ECs. I'm the only one applying to McDonough out of us 4.

Anyone? I’m desperate.

l would say GU is a reach. Georgetown has very unorthodox admissions, so don’t worry about too much about your gpa. Good luck on Math 2. l applied to GU regular decision. UChicago deferred me EA. Does UChicago ever deny anyone during the EA round? All the people l know were either accepted or denied.

OP I think you have a long list of EC’s which is good and bad because you were in a lot and quit after Freshman year, but you did do some interesting things like volunteering. Also, your SAT is a bit low, but your exceptional essays should make up for it. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1597246-chance-me-harvard-upenn-princeton-stanford-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Georgetown: Reach/low reach

Talk about inflated gpa, your unweighted and weighted are over 1 point different XP
Anyway, you have strong leadership positions which I feel will help you a lot. Your test scores are pretty good but not stellar. Given that your school is such a good one, I would say you have a moderate chance. I would say low reach.

SAT and GPA are kinda low…
Georgetown- Low Reach
Good luck!
Chance back- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1603057-i-feel-like-all-reaches-me-help.html</a></p>

SAT score is low so you can submit the ACT. Good ECs but your weighted and unweighed GPA are way apart so I’m not sure what I can conclude from that.

Georgetown: Low Reach

Chance back - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1602878-chances-brown-upenn-wash-u-stl.html</a></p>

Thanks for all the input guys, I’ll chance back ASAP. Regarding the GPA gap - I’ve taken 6 AP, 7 IB, and 4 Dual Enrollment classes already and am currently taking another 8 IB classes and 2 AP classes (most IB classes are for two years and weighted both years in all IB schools, and I’m taking the AP classes online). My ridiculous course load explains the gap. The weighting for our AP classes is 5.5, honors classes get a 4.5 weighting.

Chanced back  Still open for any more opinions!

I’d say low reach. ACT and ECs are both very good, but your GPA is somewhat below par.

I would agree with most of these and say reach/low reach. specially with a school like Georgetown, it is almost random.
Chance back @ http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1601533-chance-me-my-schools.html</a></p>

A low reach! Be sure not to send your SAT1 scores though. The other stats looks pretty good for Georgetown!

Chance me  http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1598925-please-chance-me-accounting-programs-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

i know a guy who got in with much worse EC’s and GPA than you, so there’s a chance.
I think it’s a high match

Chanced everyone back, hope this helps!!

@Tarheel714, what year did they get in? Georgetown has only become a really competitive school in the last 5 years or so. Also, are you referring to weighted or UW GPA? My weighted is pretty good, but my UW is crap.

Always open for more chances - am still chancing others back.

horsegirl, he got in this year, he’s a high school senior right now. He has around a 4.4 or 4.5 weighted, and probably scored around 1900. Of course, it’s an apples to oranges comparison, there’s just too many variables, but at least it’s not impossible
