Chance me for georgetown

I really appreciate any feedback this is my top choice i know my gpa is low but for my most recent grades in junior year i have had a 96 avg so its definitely shown improvement. Also i go to a competitive performing arts school for trumpet

GPA: 3.5 overall

SAT: 800 CR 670 m 780 W

AP: 5 on world history expect 5s on ap lang and us this year

SAT II: 730 world but expect higher this year on literature and us

Extracurricular:
volunteered lots on a congressional campaign and state assembly race
played guitar
this summer ill be volunteering at a state park
profiles in courage essay finalist
i also expect at least one very good recommendation

basically wondering if you think that the stuff can overcome the gpa

also i forgot my senior classes are ap lit ap stat ap environmental honors gov’t and econ plus music classes and hopefully japanese 1 also 4 years of varsity baseball although not nearly D-I competitive

Bump…

please…

Georgetown would be a low reach b/c of the GPA and weak ECs

yeah, I definitely get that, thanks

You have an alright class load. However, your GPA is pretty low. SAT score is very good, try to get math up to 700 if you plan on taking it again.

What do you plan on majoring in at Georgetown? This school is great for international related jobs. You don’t mention anything about excelling in a foreign language or being involved in cultural groups? You need to work on your extra curriculars also. Your school definitely offers more than you have taken part in.

For your senior year you need to possibly get your SAT up, join more clubs, and raise that GPA.

thanks, yeah i plan on either poli sci or government at the college rather than sfs partially b/c i dont have the language component at all really other than spanish classes

If you’re going for something gov’t related (which georgetown is known so well for), it may be a bit of a reach. Emphasize your help in the congressional campaign and finish out the year strong. If you were to be able to do this, the competitive SAT, the instrument, and semi-relevant ECs may help. However, like I said, finish out this year strong and maybe try to do some gov’t-related ECs over the summer.

Overall, if you’d be able to do all of this, I’d still call it a low reach (maybe a high-match if you can show intense interest in the school and write great essays)
