So im most worried about my essay, ECs and Volunteer work.
ECs(mostly honor societies. I was actually not sure if I should put the honor societies in honors or ECs because it said not to put based solely on academics, but the honor societies in my school are not that hard to get into and we did volunteer stuff or tutoring in most of them. Did anyone else list honor societies in ECs? Or do u guys think I should put them in honors/awards)
Mu Alpha Theta(10-12)- tutored students in math
Science Honor Society(11-12): Tutored kids in science
National Honor Society(12): Volunteered over the summer at a graduation and then at an elementary school open house. Tutoring elementary school students this year.
National English(11-12)- participate in literature-related events(plays, book exhibits)
Math Team (10)
I was also in a dance team at Kennesaw state university in 9th grade, so I’ll probably put that
I did some stuff in some other clubs, but I don’t think that I did enough to actually put the clubs on my app.

Volunteer:
Yah really not much.
Camp Hollywood-1 week(25 hours) – volunteered to help mentally disabled children at some indoor camp thing.

And the essay, im almost done, im going to give it to my friends to proofread and stuff, but I don’t think I am that good at writing, so lets just the essay is going to be average.
I don’t think I will get denied for early action (atleast I hope I don’t) but I think I might get deferred. So I was thinking about taking the ACT to see if I can do better on the English section to raise my score and I might take two subject tests in december, but only if I think I might get deferred. Do you guys think I should sign up for the ACT and subject tests? Or do you think I can get accepted?
Thanks!!!

Write a good essay and you’re golden.

:D im going to try my best  i really want to get in to gt :stuck_out_tongue: thanks for the response :)

I’d say you’re academic success outweighs your very slightly lacking EC’s. Honestly your EC’s aren’t even that bad anyway, so you should almost definitely be in there. I’m the one who should be worried, my stats are much worse! Haha

thank u  i was just scared because a lot of my friends have better grades, higher sat, and more EC’s and they have been worried that they wont get in :stuck_out_tongue: -.- i feel like I should have done more EC’s :stuck_out_tongue: but i was too lazy -.- but I hope you’re right. and i hope u get in too :D

Look like a shoe in to me. Even if you write a miserable essay you still have a great shot, especially given your science and math focused classes. Plus you’ve already taken classes at GT. They accept students who they think will succeed. You’re a great candidate. Don’t worry about it.

:) thanks  i guess im just stressing too much.
