<p>Hello all,</p>

<p>I've already been denied to three schools that I thought I had decent chances for, so I'm starting to get very nervous.
I'm applying to the computer science major at these schools, and I am hispanic.</p>

<p>The highschool I attend is very rigorous. It's ranked in the top 20 highschools nationally and is very competitive, therefore my ranking is somewhat low. Hopefully this will be factored into college admissions.</p>

<p>My stats:
3.45/4 unweighted GPA... huge upward trend junior and senior year
3.8 weighted GPA
45/145.... 30%</p>

<p>31 ACT (10 writing)(32 math, 31 english, 31 critical reading, 30 science)
2100 SAT (660 math, 710 writing, 730 critical reading)</p>

<p>SAT Subject Tests:
Physics - 740
Spanish - 770</p>

<p>AP Scores: AP scholar with distinction
Psychology - 4
Spanish - 5
Computer Science - 3
English III - 4
U.S. History - 4
Physics B - 4</p>

<p>Currently taking 6 AP classes my senior year. Will have 12 AP tests/classes by the end of graduation.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Member of Student Council
New Scholar Academy Mentor (chosen by school to mentor incoming freshman the monthly summer academy.
Kick off Mentor - Mentored set of students throughout whole year
Solar Car member
Vice President of a tutoring club
Parliamentarian of Culture Club
Masterminds (science trivia) competitor
KQSA representative (play music in dances, during morning, afterschool)</p>

<p>It’s going to be tough getting into GT RD just because of the common app. The average SAT score was a 2200 so youre slightly under that. However you are spanish which is a good hook. But your GPA might hurt you despite the trend.</p>

<p>Honestly, I think you have an average chance at GT because of your stats. Physics II is decent and APs are OK. The strength of your high school will definately play a factor, as universities like to see you with other competitive people, as they want you to be able to deal with the competitive nature at their school.I think you have a 50% chance at GT. <p>It’s not great that your weighted GPA is below 4.0. Many applicants to those schools will have UW’s the same as your weighted. Your SAT II’s are great, but I would’ve taken the regular SAT and ACT again, though it’s too late for that now. Your AP score are good. Average EC’s.

<p>I think NYU and USC are low reaches, totally plausible. NYU probably more likely than USC. Best of luck.</p>

<p>Your GPA is definitely gonna hurt. I also think you should have taken a math SATII. You EC are not tailored to technology which I know a lot of schools like to see. Other than that I think you have a decent chance to get into one of the three schools.

I’ve applied to all three schools. NYU and USC are possible but GaTech is not as likely. Pretty much the same case as mine.

@cmm1016 you are responding to an 11 month old thread. I doubt the OP will chance you back since he hasn’t been on this site since May 2014.

Old, inactive posts are nice for research. Don’t resurrect these for discussion.
