noone really knows what admissions will do. Your EC’s seem to be in line with what GT is looking for, so for in state I would say a decent chance. Do you know what your Zell Miller/Hope GPA is?

Yes, my hope GPA is 3.7.

A 3.7 HOPE GPA and a 3.85 weighted GPA means you have made a lot of Bs and possibly even some Cs. Your standardized test scores are strong, but many applicants will have better grades than you, so you are going to be at a disadvantage on that front. You’re a in-state applicant with solid ECs, so you stand a chance, but I would be sure to have some back-up options.

Yea so about my B’s, I got 1 freshman year, and 1 Junior year, and I got 4 B’s in Sophomore year. Basically, I moved schools during sophomore and there were some family difficulties. If i mention this on my college app, do you think it would seem like a valid excuse? Also, about what chance(%) do you think I would have?

You might want to explain the circumstances that led to the relatively poorer performance in your sophomore year. You don’t want your explanation to come of as an “excuse” or as immature. You need to portray what happened in a way that indicates your have learned and grown from the experience. It looks good that you now have a year of higher performance in junior year when you also took most of you AP classes.

Hard to give percentage. Admissions is holistic, so your involvement and how you come across in your essays will have a large and relatively subjective impact on admissions decisions. It’s worth applying and I think Tech is a slight reach for you.
