So. Grinnell, Kenyon, Macalester. And maybe Haverford though my impression is that it's a bit more selective than the others.

-3.3 GPA. First half of high school was spent at a rigorous private school and nearly all of those year-end grades are Bs. Junior year at public school has yielded five As, one B, and one C. Two AP classes this year (junior year) and none previously.

-SAT scores: 800 critical reading, 800 writing, only 580 math. (National Merit commended).

-No leadership positions whatsoever. I am in two clubs (Model UN and Tri-M). I've been in an outside-of-school orchestra for four years and did All-County Honors orchestra this year. (Violin for eight years).

-AP scores: I project one 5 (English Language & Composition) and one 4 (US History). And two failing which I won't mention to colleges.

-I'm taking 5 AP classes next (senior) year, but I doubt colleges care. And I'm not taking any maths or sciences next year.

-I'm doing a week-long summer program at Georgetown about International Relations (probably my future major). (I don't know whether that in itself will impress anyone but the knowledge I take from it might make my essay more focused).

-I'm barely in the top half of the class, but this is because of weird transfer weighting issues which I'll try to explain (and have my guidance counselor explain) to colleges.

-My recommendations will be okay but not fantastic.

Thanks guys!
