Chance me for Grinnell?

I'm posting on my brother's account, so chances are that I won't be able to respond to anything unless I find it left logged in again, haha.

Basic: White, Male, I'm not going to say where I'm from because I am a member of teams that hold state championships, but I live around Iowa, where Grinnell is located.
School: Public, almost no one goes to a top college, but we get one every few years who goes to a school like Berkely. 215 are in my graduating class.
Income: Less than $15,000
Hooks: Low income, several state championship teams that have done well at nationals

ACT: 34 composite
SAT Subject Tests: 800 US History/800 World History/740 Math II

GPA: 3.4 UW/4.4 W - Very strong upward trend after first semester of sophomore year
Rank: 7th (Top 4%)

ECs:
-Academic Decathlon | President (10,11,12) we won the state championship every year I was president and placed in the top ten at nationals each year.
-National History Bowl | Founder, president (9, 10, 11, 12) we won the state championship my sophomore and junior year by a large margin; we hope to win again this year.
Student council | 9th grade - I was forced to quit due to Academic Decathlon (we have a class for it)
We also did very well in Quizbowl and Knowledge Master Open, the Quizbowl team I was a capitain of, but nothing really special.

Classes:
I took two APs my sophomore year (Psych and US History), four my junior year (Chem, Human Geography, Gov, English), and this year I'm taking seven (Comp. Gov., English Lit, Calc AB, Stat, Bio, Euro, Microeconomics). I've also taken advanced English in my sophomore year, honors precalc my junior year, and it was always the most rigorous course load possible without running out of classes that were considered rigorous to take the next year.

Thanks

Grinnell places a lot of weight on your academic record: I’m curious that you have a 3.4UW (a B+) but are in the top 5% of your class at a public school. This is unusual. Is this correct?

Yes, that’s correct, my school ranks based off your weighted GPA, mine being 4.4.

I would suggest, since you live in Iowa, that you make it a priority to visit Grinnell, interview, and talk explicitly about how they view your GPA and about financial and merit aid. If a rep from Grinnell visits your school, or they hold a ‘dog and pony’ show in your area, make sure you attend and make a point of introducing yourself to the rep. Demonstrated interest matters.

17% of the class is from Iowa, as I recall, but I don’t know how that compares to the percent of the applicant pool (ie, it is an advantage, disadvantage or neutral).

You stats look good. Show your interest and uniqueness in you application.
Good Luck!
