thanks so much for taking the time to read my stats! i also want to mention that although i am not an immidiate legacy (neither of my parents or siblings attended georgetown)multiple family members on my moms side going back for generations have attended... including my grandmother (georgetown visitation), my grandfather, who was very active in alumni interviews and donations for years, three aunts and uncles, and many of my grandmothers relatives were nuns at the visitiation school

you’re stats are pretty similar to mine, except I’m an international. Your SAT is maybe a bit low, but your gpa, rank, etc. are strong. Good EC’s, especially the mentorship and community service. I think you should have a decent chance, given that Gtown supposedly doesn’t place excessive emphasis on the SAT. chance me back?
My thread is just a few threads down.

bump… ill chance back!

^and tell me what? Your very uneducated opinion too?

well no the idea is to get someone elses opinion on how to improve your application or make yourself more well rounded… but thanks for the help… and why do you even look at these forums in the first place if thats what you think…?

just fyi, you can only take 1 subject test in a certain area each month. you can take either math I or math II, but not both. at least thats what they said when i took it

oh really? thats wierd because im signed up to take both next saturday …

As far as I can tell, you look pretty good! And I’m super jealous you know Italian- it’s on my bucket list!
Anyways, ECs and APs are great (the mentoring you’ve done should really standout), it’s great you have a connection to the school, sports look good. Only downer is the SAT, which was my issue for awhile, too. This being said, the mid 50% range for GTown SAT Average is 2090, so maybe! I did way better on my second time, though (2030 to 2150 composite) after I took a break from obsessing over strategy and just took it. Probably not the most empirical method, but it worked? Anyways, best of luck! Georgetown is a reach for most of us, and my guidance counselor always says the Ivies are a crapshoot.
Chance me for GTown? I’m interested in a Health Concentration, but as you can see, have had a relatively liberal education and interests (one of the reasons I’m looking into Georgetown- they encourage study abroad for all majors.)

yeah your stats look similar to mine, especially with the SATs. Your total with writing is higher than mine but as far as I know georgetown doesnt actually care about writing (although im sure it still looks good to have a high score). the fact that you do fencing and martial arts looks really cool, i mean thats something thats pretty unique and not a lot of people have (as opposed to me playing lacrosse and field hockey haha). plus your gpa is really good. I dont really know much about IB programs but it seems like a really rigourous course load! good luck with everything.

and p.s im not exactly fluent in italian… after four years and a trip to italy i can write and read pretty well but as soon as they turn on thsoe fast talking listening tapes in class im lost

bump! sat II scores:
Math 1: 710
Math 2: 710
Biology Ecological: 780

hi! so i think you definitely have a good shot at Georgetown, your GPA/class rank/APs look good but i would try to bring up your SAT scores a bit, to have at least a 700 in each category (M, CR, and W). Also, you probably know you need three SAT II scores for Georgetown but i am pretty sure they dont want two of them to be math. i might be mixing this up with other schools (i went through this all last year and its already a little fuzzy) so you might want to look into their policy and perhaps take another SAT II in a different field (like humanities) to be more balanced with your SAT IIs. your scores on them are good though! your ECs seem fine to me, i’m no expert on what Geogetown is looking for, but i would try to focus on that grant making program, that seems to be very interesting and unique! i hope this helps, but try to take everything with a grain of salt too, last year when i posted a chance me thread people told me georgetown was a reach but i ended up getting in (: definitely apply, i think you have a good shot! good luck!

ok thanks! yeah i havent heard that two of the sat IIs cant be in math, but ill look into it.
