Chance me for GW please!

I know this is a bit of a reach, but I want to know if I would even be considered.

I graduated HS in 1998, went to early college as a senior in HS. Due to family and personal reasons, I withdrew and my gpa plummeted to 1.56. I moved around a bit and worked in a lot of top worldwide law firms. I have 13 years experience.

I moved back to my home state of Utah to finish school, but I want to be back east again and eventually go to law school. I have previously lived in DC and Philadelphia.

During this year in college since I have returned, I have a 3.85 cum gpa. This semester I am going full time and currently have all A's. :)

Would I have any sort of chance of getting into GW?

Thanks!

I respect your efforts, and i am sure that you will consider your case, but there is only one thing: I haven’t seen many people in their late 20’s and 30’s as undergraduate students, like i had seen them in state schools. If accepted, you may feel a little lonely there, because you will be considered out of their league. the grad students won’t interact with us either, like 2 separate schools in one.
Good luck

I’m not so worried about that. I lived in DC before and have a ton of friends in the area, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

I just would like to go there because it is such a great school and then go off to law school.

Do you think I have any chance at all getting in?

Thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it.

I think you have a really good chance based on your life expersinece, which will not be taken lightly. Keep your good grades, and good luck to you, I know you’ll enjoy the learning opportunities here!

Great thank you so much! I really hope to study there. I think it would just be a great foundation before continuing to law.

I’m super excited. I currently have all A’s this semester and 2 for spring until I graduate here. I already planned on taking a couple of courses that would fit into GW’s curriculum for transfer.

Thanks again for the response. You have calmed my recent anxiety. :)

Do you think I would have any kind of chance at Merit Aid?

I’m so excited, I will be visiting campus the week of Thanksgiving. I wish the days were moving quicker!

tell us how you liked the visit!
I really don’t know much about the merrit scholarships in your special situation, but it would be a great question to ask a representative during your visit.
Good Luck to you!

I’m really praying. I think I can bang out a 4.0 this semester where I am at the moment. I’ve been working so hard to get in!

I will definitely keep you apprized of my visit and any info I find out. :)

So I went for my visit today and really liked GWU. I was late to the info session, but afterwards had an appointment set to meet with my admissions counselor. He assured me the process of transferring is easy and I should be okay - so it just depends on how much aid I would get. I love how GWU is in the city - would definitely make it easy to have a job downtown and attend. Now the wait begins. I think I will be going crazy waiting to find out until May!
