BUMP

People cannot chance for top schools, top students with better GPA and scores then you get rejected and students with worse scores and worse grades get accepted so it can be quite random.

Let me know where you end up going, good luck!

@SirRico20 Your sixth DD also got a 1900, a 3.5 GPA and got into Wharton?

Can you let us know where did your other kids get into?

@SirRico20 wow what qualified sextuplets you have! They must be applying to college at age 5 or 6, since you seem to be a high school senior applying to Yale as well: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1913265-chances-help-me-out.html#latest

So cool how your kindergarten daughter made an app and now attends Harvard, Stanford, or MIT (or all of them?? you didn’t specify!!)

Congrats again!!

Your stats are in line but your CGPA could hurt your chances, especially since almost everyone applying to these schools from India have a perfect 10 in tenth grade. I’m not applying to Harvard or stan but my 12th grade predicted is 96.2%, the kids who would be applying to these schools would prolly have even better marks.
Anyway, best of luck!

@holdencaufield007

Yeah man I know. Where are you applying?
Most Indian applicants have ONLY perfect grades and nothing else, most probably that’s why they all get rejected.

Hahaha truee. I’m applying ED to Cornell but im not getting my hopes up since my EC’s are quite limited.
I think you should apply to Cornell too. With your stats it’s definitely a match for you.

@holdencaufield007
Yeah bro. I would have but they’ve turned need aware from this year. So that’s a no go for me. Anyways happy diwali. I hope you get in!

I still think you should. They’re need aware, but you can qualify for the Tata scholarship
Happy Diwali to you too :)>-

@holdencaufield007
Bro you qualify for the tata scholarship only if you get aid from Cornell

Naa bro, you gotta apply for aid. Need aware means they’ll take you if they think you’re good enough to be given aid i.e. your getting in means they’re ready to pay for you. Ofcourse, the amount of aid varies. The eligibility criteria for Tata is that you must’ve applied for aid. You can’t expect Tata if you haven’t applied for aid.

@holdencaufield007 yeah bro I know. Earlier they were need blind (at the time of decision) so I think it’ll be harder for us internationals to get aid this time.

Students more qualified then you will get rejected and students less qualified then you will get accepted, it’s really hard to chance for top schools so it’s not really worth asking.

@Sterny16
Could you chance me for Harvey Mudd then?

I’ll tell you what. Apply to university of Alabama at Huntsville. They’ll give you 100% scholarship + on campus housing
Ofcourse, this school is nowhere as prestigious as the ones you’re applying to, but consider as a super super safety school. That’s what I’m doing.

@holdencaufield007
That was my plan too!
