Sorry, copied and pasted the wrong thread.
You didn’t even tell us which clubs you are the president of. We have no clue what your interests are. How are we supposed to make a judgment?

Hello i am an ninth grader studying in asia i am already the author of a book which sell all over my country i hav founded my school magazine i have been accepted as one of the sixty out of 30k applicants at a prestigious programme because of my essay and my articles have featured in the top newspapers of the country and the top three newspapers of the nation have written articcles on me. I plan to write two to three more books before i apply to a collegue. I represent the library and literature department at the school councel. I am in the top half of my class but not too great in studies. I have done tons of social work including raising funds to educate and feed 100 streetside children alone and plan to volenteer at an elephant orphanage in kenya i plan to apply to harvard but i wonder if my ecs are good enough to compensate for my marks. I am also in the tennis team and take part in muns

I also forgot to mention that i go to the most prestigious school in my country

^ I don’t know why starmound thinks you have a 72% chance. Not saying that you aren’t a good applicant, but the only people who I’d think would have that high of a chance are recruited athletes and developmentals.

Most students on CC think they do too.

Also, looking at your posting history, you seem to be multiple people based on your stats etc.

@carbon111 stop hijacking threads. Start your own thread.

Lol. Carbon

my88keys - You appear to be tone deaf to sarcasm. Obviously starmound was making fun of the whole chancing phenomenon with his comment.

@fallenchemist, I’m not tone deaf to sarcasm. It’s the internet; tone isn’t translated well over text.

Speaking of multiple personalities, @houstonkid2200 less than two weeks ago you posted that your SAT I score was 2350, your ACT score was 35, you had five AP scores of 5, and you had three SAT II scores that were 750+. All this seems to have changed and now you keep asking about money getting you in instead. I just read your posts on the Yale, Princeton and Brown forums. For you to be a developmental admit, the discussions would have to had to have been started a while ago (unless we are talking about a very large sum of money) and you would be “monitored” once the pledge has been made and commenced. The discussions are always delicate and top Ivies will turn some potential donors away for various reasons.

You absolutley cannot buy your way into places like Princeton and Yale by saying your parents will later donate $1million. That would be the quickest path I can think of to the reject pile if you were to try to bring this up in your application. At Brown and Harvard, where you are a legacy, if indeed your parents have given large sums of money through the years, you will be given extra consideration (especially if you apply early to Brown) but if your academics, EC’s, and recs are not up to snuff (hard to know if the latest stats you’ve posted are accurate) be prepared for a courtesy deferral and most likely a rejection down the road. At my Ivy alma mater, through the years I have seen some very upset alumni (who all had been extremely generous to the school) after their children were turned down for admission.

Personally, I think you had better stop thinking about what kind of angles you can utilize to get into a top school and concentrate solely on your grades, test scores, essays and whatever you are passionate about after the school bell rings at the end of the day. This way, if you do get into a top school, you’ll be very prepared to do well and you’ll feel a lot more pride in your acceptance than if it were bought.

Edit: I just saw you asked today about buying your way into Duke - oh brother. Well, keep shopping - maybe you’ll find a willing seller.

Why don’t you build your own college? Seriously, there is NO way you can buy your acceptance to a top university.
