chance me for harvard

I am a ninth grader who has published a book which sells all over my country ajd i plan to write two to three more before applying to harvard. I like in india where there is very very less scope for ecs compared to america which i hope the interviewrs will understand but yet my articles have featured in the top newspapers of the country and the top three newspapers of the country have written articles on me. I attend the most prestigious boys school in the country where i have founded the school magazine and represent the library and literature department in the school council. My essay got me selected as one of tje 60 out of 30k applicants in a prestigious journalism programme. I have done tons of social service including several campaigns and raising money to feed and educate 100 streetside children and bring electricity to a rural drought stricken village. I also plan on volenteering at an elephant orphanage in kenya. I am in the top half of the class but in no ways an exceptional student. What are my chances. Can i stand out among other harvard applicants by being an author when i was in middle school and have it sell throughout the country in such an unencouraging country.

Academics come first - an estimate of your chances is impossible without your SAT scores and GPA.

But as for my ecs and social service do i stand out as an applicant

Dude grade 9 is way too early to be asking for chances. You still have 3 years before you apply

But will you please give me a percent rating based on my current progress

You have plenty of time so work on your grades/scores. Harvard wants interesting people like someone who has published a book but not if they think you can’t handle the workload in Harvard. How can they know that? By your grades and scores.

And it’s impossible to give you a “percent rating”

Please do not do things just for the sake of getting into Harvard etc. … If you do not get in, which is highly possible, you will regret it

Writing is something that i love and i have solely done it for pleasure. If i get a good SAT score then can i get in with my ecs and my supw

“please give me a percent rating” Read this.

statistically, you have below a one percent chance

NOBODY KNOWS! You’re talking as if there is a formula to get into Harvard. Sometimes people with amazing scores/ECs are rejected! So just do well in school and see what happens.

ok dude first of all, chill. second of all, you have THREE years left until you apply! the MAIN THING that you need in order to get your foot into the door is strong academics and great scores (I am saying for most of the applicants that is) and then AFTER that will your EC’s count. Sure right now you have pretty dedicated one or two ones but you need to do what you LOVE and have a PASSION for instead of what harvard wants… You only have 4 years for high school, I encourage you to focus on your academics/testing and then you do what you love in terms of outside school stuff.

I understand your india comments as I am an indian. Even though I live in America, I know the atmosphere in India and how it is focused on mainly academics/etc but in the eyes of harvard they won’t give you leeway or whatever you want to call it just because you come from an “unencouraging environment” so I just suggest you do stuff outside school that you love, join clubs have leadership, the basic stuff. You will qualify as an internation al I am guessin? and because that it is IMPOSSIBLE to give you an actual chance number as you are a 9th grader without a full record of academics/testing, no full record of EC’s, and noone knows what pool will look like in 3 years…
