<p>I am really interested in HMC, but I was not accepted to the Fall FAST program and I am wondering whether there is a good chance I might be accepted to the actual school. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>I'm a white female rising senior at a very competitive High School in Texas.</p>

GPA: 104.669 out of 100
Rank: Top 10% out of 670ish</p>

<p>AP's: Psychology, Human Geography, Chemistry, US History, Physics B, English (all 5's)
Latin and World History (4's)</p>

<p>EC's: Varsity Lacrosse (captain), Girl Scouts (Gold Award), Destination imagination (8th at Global Finals), Venture Crew (Communications Officer)</p>

<p>Member of NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Latin Club, TSJCL, </p>

<p>Honors and Awards: Academic All-American Athlete, National AP Scholar, Offensive MVP, Summa Cum Laude on State Pentathlon and Maxima Cum Laude on National Latin Exam, Girl Scout Gold Award</p>

<p>Community Service: Eels on Wheels Adaptive Diving (teaching people in need of physical or emotional support to SCUBA dive), Various activities through Girl Scouts and NHS, teach elementary school kids every year for Science Day</p>

<p>For the OP, I would say you have a decent chance. Your SAT Math is a little low by Mudd standards, you are below the 50% range (in 2012 it was 740-800). As a female your chances are better. ED would improve your chances, and solid essays.</p>

<p>After that I’m applying to a bunch of schools that are as competitive or more competitive than HMC, so please let me know if you have any match suggestions. </p>

I’d need to read up on the schools you are looking at, but I’d say you look like a competitive candidate for most schools. Maybe you could intern or volunteer somewhere unique to stand out even more.</p>

<p>I would not worry a ton about the leadership. My D got in last year at Mudd with less leadership than lax captain… if you were going to put in additional time someplace and Mudd was your top choice, I would take another shot at the SAT this fall.</p>

<p>I think you have a good shot- your stats are great, but I’d say high match only because Mudd is competitive.</p>
