Hi - your SAT and GPA looks great. However your lack of focus is somewhat worrying. I know its difficult to pick a major, but coming across as being indecisive to AdComs can be the kiss of death. Are you interested in Premed, Computer Science, or Business? Pick one and flaunt it on your app.

If you go the pre-med route, I was a bit confused on why you would do marine biology research instead of hospital/bench type research. This needs to be explained.

Finally JHU is one of the most cut-throat places for undergrad Pre-med there is. Strongly consider another place where you can get as high of a GPA as possible - med school admissions is purely about high GPA.

hey you have amazing stats! if you are looking at JHU i would also look into studying biomedical engineering since they are big in that. for pre med to washu and JHU i think they are a high match for you. just make sure you write really strong essays and get good recommendations. also the interviews are important so you can explain why you decided to take the path you did in highschool since that will help. overall you have a really good chance to anywhere and you have nothing to worry about!

please help me!!!

@sgopal2 Do you know if they have a tendency for grade deflation there?

Your stats and ECs are really impressive! I think you have a really good chance of getting into either school; however, your focus seems to be more on writing/journalism than pre-med/comp sci. Though both Wash U and Johns Hopkins are great schools for both which is definitely a plus! I think they’d both be high matches. Best of luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1674062-take-a-chance-on-me-chances-for-top-schools-vanderbilt-columbia-northwestern.html

Grade deflation is absolutely an issue at Hopkins. I’m no expert on JHU, but this is what I’ve heard from a couple of my friends who attended
