Chance Me For Hotchkiss Please!

Hey everyone,
It is my dream to attend The Hotchkiss School for 10th-12th grade.
I'm currently a rising 9th grader with a late birthday (white male) and will attend Paul D. Schreiber High School on in Port Washington, NY. It is a fantastic public high school. I've played the trumpet and lacrosse since 3rd grade. I'm also my rowing team's most valuable coxswain. Spring 2011 was our team's first season and we were the first crew team to win a championship at Long Island Championships in their inaugural season. That also may be true for our New York State Champs regatta, but I'm not sure if a team has done it before. I have a perfect GPA so far because I've got A+'s in both Earth Science and Integrated Algebra (The highest level of math and science that I could take last year). Next year I will be in both Honors geometry and biology. I am extremely passionate about film making and will be collaborating with one of my father's friends to make a short documentary about atheism in America. I also take Latin and received a Cum Laude award for the National Latin Exam this year. Hotchkiss is the only boarding school I am applying to and I feel like that may be a plus for me to get in there. I have also snowboarded since I was 5. I held lemonade stands to help raise money for the American Red Cross relief for Japan after the earthquake. I will be in studio art next year and I am great at it. Math and science are my strongest subjects and I got a 97 on the math and a 98 on the science regents last year, along with a 100 on my math mid-term. I will be doing an optional english honors project next year. I have not taken the SSAT yet. In my school I placed 2nd in the NYSMC (New York State Math Competition). I have an interview in 10 days so if anyone could give me advice for that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well you seem like an intelligent and motivated person, but I really don’t know anything about applying for selective high schools lol; however, it seems like you have done all you can do, so I wouldn’t dwell on it. For the interview: show interest, sleep well the night before, make sure to know about the high school (e.g. their basic info, brief history, this really does help because it shows interest), speak clearly, and avoid stuttering. Good luck :D
