Wow…700 in each SAT section…I don’t think I’ve ever seen the same exact score in each section before. :)

HYP, Columbia, Cornell, Chicago, Georgetown, UPENN, NYU

While your SATs are very good, they’re not high for ivies…

For example…

Yale…

Middle 50% of First-Year Students

SAT Critical Reading: 700 - 800
SAT Math: 700 - 780
SAT Writing: 700 - 790
ACT Composite: 30 - 34

As you can see, your 700s are about the bottom 25% of students. That’s not the place to be. Often those students are special admits, athletes, URMs, etc.

Have your parents told you how much they’ll pay for college each year? If not, ask. You need to know this. :)

They’re willing to pay whatever amount is necessary…so mom2collegekids what do you think my chances are at each of those schools…i understand that my SAts aren’t that high

I also forgot to put that I’m ranked 1st in my class of about 400 students

Great rank, but SATs are not close for an unhooked candidate at HYP, Penn, and most schools at Cornell. Realize that the bottom of the range is recruited athletes, URMs and other hooked candidates.

NYU, probably if you’re full pay. Chicago has no rhyme or reason.

Good rank and excellent EC leadership. Also, if you’re looking at PoliSci, your ECs show a passion for that. The SAT is your only real weakness.

HYP: Reach
Columbia: Reach
Cornell: Low Reach
Chicago: Unpredictable, write good essays
Georgetown: High Match
UPenn: Low Reach
NYU: Match

Good Luck

Yeah Political Science and depending where I go business

Will only taking 3 yrs of Spanish hurt my chances for admission to these schools?

^I don’t think it will significantly affect them at all.

Anybody else want to chance me please with only 3 yrs of spanish

decent stats. the problem with the ivys is that, unfortunately, they do take into account scores. 2100 is by no means low, but it might be challenging to get into the highest ivys. I think you would have a decent shot at gtown, nyu, etc. (did you apply early anywhere?) plus, those schools have fantastic int’l relations (is that the major you want to pursue?)
