Rec letters:
Teacher 1: haven't read
Teacher 2: haven't read
Counselor: haven't read, but pretty sure its good, we have a lot of great conversations
Other: asked my clergy to write one, it was really flowery, idk what else to say about it tho

Just another Asian male, idk that hurts or not...

Bump? Comments would be much appreciated :)

The stats seem extremely solid and promising but it seems that your essay isnt as great as you thought it would be. The schools youve listed really look at the essays but with just the stats alone, you can probably get into washu, rice, and byu. You still have some time left to edit your essay by the due date for regular decision. So good luck!

Chance me toooo

Pros: Great test scores and APs (academic excellence), focused passion and involvement in music, internship at cancer lab, national awards for sci oly

Con: applying for competitive STEM major, supposedly mediocre essays (?), lack of leadership

I think you really need to make your essays pop, especially since you are an Asian male. Also, look into creating a music charity where you perform for senior homes and or concerts to raise money. The music thing could be standout-ish!

Mid-reach for HYPS. Match for top twenty schools like Washington St. Louis, rice, and northwestern!

amazing stats!! you know what would make your app stand out from other asian guys?? maybe a little bit about cello and art in your supplements–if you actually have a passion for it. if you don’t actually have a passion for it, it’ll be harder to write about that though.

who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯
