Hi, I am from India. Please chance me for Edinburgh and Imperial! for Computer Science in the college of science. So that I should apply or not

Haven;t got a clue. Have you contacted these universities to ask them their admissions requirements for Indian students? Have you achieved their minimum requirements?

You won’t find many people in this forum who are au fait enough with Indian qualifications to be able to help you. Contact the unis directly- they will tell you what the typical offer is. The great part of the UK system is that you don’t have to play ‘chance me’- if you have the numbers, you have the place (except for Oxbridge, LSE and one or two others).

Thank you @collegemom3717 and @cupcake I am contacting them. I will also post to also help other people

So, this is what they mailed me -

A typical offer for computing would be a final overall mark of at least 90% which should include at least 95% in maths and 90% in a further two relevant core subjects.

You may also be required to obtain Common Merit in JEE.

I had 83% in 11th Grade , will this ruin my application? @collegemom3717 and @cupcake with 64 in Math due to sudden illness. If I score 90+ in my midterms, will it be a good sign?

I doubt it, assuming you can pay. Are you now in year 13 (the final year numbered the same way as the UK)? If so your offer will be based on your final year grades, same as for UK students (unless they have told you it is otherwise for Indian students). Did they say if those requirements were for every year of high school, or just the final one? Just the final year would be the norm. You need to double check.

No, I’m in year 12 (the last year in our education system) and yes I can pay. They said that they would give condition admission based on my 12th midterms, 11th, and 10th grade marks.

@mak1702 don’t know about Imperial, I don’t think UK unis ask for 11th grade marks if you are a CBSE applicant., as they are internal examination marks, you’ll be given a conditional offer on the basis of 10th marks and 12th predicted grades.
Hopefully, I helped.

@halamadrid9 I contacted Imperial and they said that they need 11th grade marks.

What about Edinburgh? I hope they don’t ask But I’m damn sure they’ll never ask your midterm marks because UCAS opens in Sept whilst Midterms in my school are in October. I’ll apply early like before 10 sept.

I’m sure that Edinburgh too asks for midterms and uses your 11th Grade marks to know your potential and future standing. @halamadrid9 #BestOfLuck

Where will you report 11th scores? UCAS doesn’t have space for 11th grade marks!

I honestly wouldn’t overanalyze it…offers are made on a case by case basis esp for international students (like me, I also applied to imperial but from america)
