Chance me for Ivies and others (will chance back)!

Hey guys, please chance me on all of my schools (which I will list below). I will chance you back, and I’ll also try to update you guys with the results in December/April!

Objective:
GPA: 4.54 W and 4.0 UW
ACT: 34C, 35 superscored (35E, 36M, 35R, 35S) with a 10/12 on the old ACT writing (corresponds to a 33?)
SAT II: Math 2 - 800, Chemistry - 780, US History - 770
Rank: about 13/430
AP Scores: US Gov (5), Human Geo (4), Calc BC (5), Chem (5), APUSH (5), Lang (5), Stats (5)
Senior Courseload: Some APs and a couple other classes
Race/Gender: White/Male
Intended major: Mathematics

ECs:
~Bassoon (9-12) - All state player, youth orchestra, a few competitions, summer programs, etc. Definitely the focal point of my activities section.
~Mu Alpha Theta (9-12) - Historian since 11th grade (I had to start a scrapbook subcommittee) and won a few math awards including qualifying for AIME one time.
~Model UN (10-12) - Club president in 12th grade, went to conferences, trained new members, etc.
~Educational Initiative (11) - Worked on an education model intended to fix a lot of problems with today’s education system. Met with a lot of local governmental/educational figures.
~Student Council (11-12) - Pretty self-explanatory
~Lifeguard (9-11) - Also pretty self-explanatory

Community Service:
Not gonna list everything because it’s a bit here and there. I did the math and it’s just over 100 hours.

Recs:
Calc, Chem, and Lit teachers. All are probably solid 7/8s out of 10.

Essays:
I like them! Idk if adcoms will though, but at least I do.

Colleges:
Brown (ED)
UChicago (EA)
Tulane (EA)
Georgetown (EA)
Case Western (EA)
Northeastern (EA)
Princeton (RD)
Yale (RD)
Cornell (RD)
Pomona (RD)
Vandy (ED2 if all else fails)
Vassar (RD)
Rice (RD)
Carleton (RD)
Emory (RD)

Georgetown should say RD* not EA

I think you’ll probably get into Brown and won’t have to worry about the others. But admissions are random to an extent, as we all know! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/20076118#Comment_20076118

For the ivies, I’d say that it would be a reach since these are extremely selective schools that are a reach for everyone. I think that you’ll get into the majority of your other schools since your stats are great. Good luck!

Thanks for the chances @yalehopeful017 @joeyl11

You cannot apply EA to Georgetown and ED to another school. You must pull one of those apps, and quickly.

@yonceonhismouth I am aware, and that was a mistake when I first typed the thread. I clarified it with my first reply.

if you write your essays well enough, i’d be willing to bet a fair amount that you get into at least one ivy. take that however you want.

I see now- I read that as another commenter correcting you, my apologies.

Brown (ED)- probs a reach bc its an Ivy
UChicago (EA)- low reach
Tulane (EA)- definite safety, i’d be surprised if you didn’t get in
Georgetown (EA)- match
Case Western (EA)- safety
Northeastern (EA)- safety/match
Princeton (RD)- reach
Yale (RD)- reach
Cornell (RD)- reach
Pomona (RD)- high match
Vandy (ED2 if all else fails)-high match
Vassar (RD)- low match

The others I don’t know well enough to comment.

Brown (ED)-Defer/Accept (Could be anything though)
UChicago (EA)-Defer->Waitlist
Tulane (EA)-Accept
Georgetown (EA)-Defer/Accept
Case Western (EA)-Accept
Northeastern (EA)-Accept
Princeton (RD)-Reject
Yale (RD)-Reject
Cornell (RD)-Accept
Pomona (RD)-Don’t know
Vandy (ED2 if all else fails)-Accept
Vassar (RD)-Accept
Rice (RD)-Accept/Waitlist
Carleton (RD)-Accept
Emory (RD)-Accept
Your extracurriculares and colleges chosen are pretty good and you have pretty good scores, but most of the reaches are crap shoots for almost anyone(e.g. Yale, Princeton).
Chance me?

Your ECs are fairly typical except for qualifying for AIME, but test scores and grades are strong. Mathematics is a very competitive major to get accepted to, but you will get into a decent number of schools. Depends a lot on recommendations and essays.

Chances are very good for Rice, and chances are better if you are from somewhere far from Texas.

Thanks for the feedback @ScienceGirlMom
