Lived in Canada all of my life basically moved there when I was less than 1 year old.
Classes:
Essentially the hardest classes my school has to offer, my school only offered AP English but I didn’t take that because I hate English. Did a little bad in the 9th and 10th grade (93% and 89% overall average respectively).
Picked it up in grade 11 (94.25% overall average) and in grade 12 (96.25% so far midterm first semester) overall average.
Going into engineering so my Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry classes were all 99%. It was only my English classes that brought me down (84%, 91%, 87%, etc.).
SAT: 1370 first time in grade 11. Just took it again and got a 1570 (800 math, 770 RW)
ACT: N/A
Extracurriculars:
Very big into soccer, but never had the money to travel to USA to attend camps. Did, however, get a professional trial for the U-17 Club Alianza Lima team in Lima, Peru and was there with the club for 2 months in 2016. Multiple offers for local university soccer teams in Canada. I train almost everyday with the team and we have strength sessions 3 times a week. I train on my own everyday at least 2 hours.
Worked multiple jobs to support my family with the bills.
Play the guitar/drums for my father’s Andean music band, mostly as a hobby, we do perform at multiple events and regional festivals from time to time.
My biggest passion now is in the field of the earth’s electromagnetic field and the possible applications. Been researching a lot and plan to build a device which can tap into earth’s electromagnetic field for energy. Not sure if I should include this in my extracurriculars since it is more a personal passion; I have not shared this with anyone but close family members. It is one of the reasons I am pursuing the best engineering schools possible so that I may get the best chance at network with other fellows and get the best resources possible for my research.
I Coach some U12 Kids soccer at my local club ~200 hours over the past 2 years.
Letters of Recommendation:
Absolutely excellent. Both of the teachers that I asked (Calculus and Physics) love me and what I stand for.
Concluding Thoughts:
I am not first-generation, my dad has a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (he is the one who got me into my research), although we are low-income since he has not been having many work projects lately and we have lots of credit card debt due to living off his graduate scholarship for so many years (3 kids, mom works cleaning to help).
I appreciate your feedback guys!
