Hello all- just wondering- if I have been admitted to Hopkins, Northwestern, UMich Ross preferred admit, Georgetown, and Notre Dame (everywhere I have applied and haven’t been deferred or waitlisted anywhere)- do you think I have a shot at ivies? I applied to Harvard, Yale, Brown, Columbia. Just looking for a shred of hope for the next week tbh
If you’ve already been accepted to all of those colleges, then I would say that you have a good chance indeed of one of the 4 you mentioned.
But a “good chance” can still be very very low…maybe a 20% chance instead of 8%? So be incredibly happy with the colleges that have come through…and then you never know on those last 4…

It seems like you do have a good chance! You can never be certain though because each school admits students differently, but seeing you have gotten into some very prestigious schools, I think the decision will be in your favor. Good luck!
well, you cannot rule out getting in everywhere. the indicators are in the right direction. having said that, i have seen instances where someone gets into brown but not harvard, for example. columbia but not georgetown. what people forget often is that the applicant pools are different…the schools are not identical so they don’t look for identical students, and the admissions committees are different too. so it isn’t inconsistencies as it is just plain differences very often. then there is the crucial relationship between the school counselor and the college itself. the biases of the counselors will impact the flavors of each class at different schools . harvard and columbia are huge universities with colleges that may get short shrift when contrasted to brown and yale, where undergraduate education takes center-stage. that means there is a real difference in the types of students attracted. barring that you are one of the stars that gets in everywhere, it could be that yale and brown may find you more attractive than harvard and columbia or vice versa!
