<p>I'm a female of mixed background (jamaican/white - my mom moved here from Jamaica when she was little). Neither of my parents went to a 4 year college</p>

<p>Significant Extracurriculars:
Science Research at Cold Spring Harbor Labs (which is world renown). I was 1 of 11 from all over Long Island accepted into the Partners for the Future program. I go in a few times a week and work with a researcher there on an original experiment. My mentor and I might publish a paper together in the future. Last year, 4 out of the 7 ppl in the research program went to Princeton and the others went to other Ivies or top tier colleges.</p>

<p>Oh and I’ve worked at the library since the end of 10th grade. During the school year I work around 12 hrs a week and during the summer I work around 25 hrs/wk.</p>

<p>You have a good shot at wherever you apply.</p>

<p>You have great grades, rank, solid scores, URM, great volunteering, course rigor, and significant research. Submit your research to a competition too! </p>

<p>Although Ivies are hugely unpredictable, you are defintely qualified and in the running for selective schools. Princeton would be still be a “reach” since it is so unpredictable. With strong essays and recs, you have the potential to go to any school on your list. But have a back-up plan too :slight_smile: Good luck! </p>
