Chance me for Ivies?

Hi! My name is Gloria and I will be applying to colleges this fall. I have applied Early Action to Yale and I will be applying Regular Decision to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, and Stanford.

Here are my stats:
4.987 W GPA / 4.000 UW (I had to take health)
Classes: 15 APs (Macro, Micro, Euro, US, World, Calc BC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Stats, French, Chinese, AP Lit, AP Lang) - 5's on all but Environmental
National AP Scholar

Test scores:
SAT 2390 (800W/800CR/780M)
ACT 35 (S34/M34/E35/R36)

I live in South California and go to a moderately selective high school (ranked within the top 500 in the nation), with a class size of 350.

Extracurriculars:
I started my own charity called America Rocks which inspires friendly American sentiment in immigrant communities in my town.
I am captain of my school's Mock Trial team.
I founded my school's girl's football team. We went to State three years in a row.
I am secretary for my school's chapter of National Honor Society.
I had an internship at a local environmental resource partitioning firm in Sacramento for two summers.

Thank you!

Stats are very good.

ECs are good, though none of them particularly stand out to me.

I can’t say you’ll be admitted to all of the colleges you listed, though with good essays and recs you definitely have a strong chance for the schools you’re listed. As it is, the Ivies+ Stanford are reaches for everyone, but you have a better chance than most. Do you have any safeties? (i.e. In-state schools such as those in the UC system)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1575372

You have great scores, grades and interesting ECs but all of those schools are reaches. It’ll depend on your essays and how you present yourself in your application and luck. What are you interested in majoring in?

Can you tell me more about your charity? What do you mean “inspires friendly American sentiment in immigrant communities”? (I teach English to immigrants.)

Your grades and test scores (15 APs is excellent) are very competitive. Your EC’s are minimal, but an internship is always good and the fact that you started a girl’s football team at your school is very original and “different.” You definitely won’t get in to all the schools you applied to, but I would say you have a good shot at getting into at least a couple.

Extremely competitive applicant for not only schools mentioned above, but probably for any school in the nation…

For those High Reaches for anyone (i.e. Harvard) essays will make or break you. Also, since these schools have many applicants with stats akin to yours, ECs play a big part.

Don’t have your mind set on any one school, because all are crapshoot schools. I am confident that you will get into one of them though…

Best of luck

Chance me back

bumpbumpbump

bumpbumpbump

I would recommend that you stay away from chance threads; your stats are so amazing and your ECs strong that you’re an EXTREMELY competitive applicant for ANY Ivy. If you apply to all of them, I’d be highly surprised if you don’t get into at least half :)
