Recommendations-are all stellar probably cause all my teachers love me!!

What are you intending to major in? Do you have a specific reason why you want to go to Harvard more than Yale/Princeton/etc. or vice-versa? I think you have a good shot at competitive schools being an international applicant with good scores, grades, and ECs. Good luck!

@vnv2799 Thanks for the reply! I want to major in Econ. So with Princeton its that it doesn’t offer double majors, which I realllly want to do. I had a hard time picking between Yale and Harvard but I liked Harvard’s traditions and I’ve always wanted to go there. I might do CS and Harvard is generally better at CS than Yale. I think I was just very into some of Harvard’s cultures and I’ve loved it for a long time. Plus I prefer Cambridge to New Haven(spent a few days in each).

That’s great. I was just making sure that you had a specific reason that you wanted to attend Harvard rather than just the big name. Hopefully it shows in your essays!

@yerin2021 - perhaps you posted this elsewhere and already received responses from more experienced posters. In general, your ACT seems to be on the lower side for Ivies (mid 50). Not sure what you meant by “took again”. If you have retaken recently, hopefully your ACT score will increase and that will help.

You should check the sites such as HIO to see how many historic acceptances from your country. Remember, most Ivies have very low International acceptances (Harvard is about 10% - all countries combined).

Your previous ventures at Yale might give you an advantage.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Harvard doesn’t offer double majors either. They call it a concentration at Harvard rather than a major, btw.

Why if you wanted Harvard did you do two summers at Yale?

@ClarinetDad16 I did the programs for the experience not for an application booster or anything. They are really unique and interesting. Also I did try to find programs at Harvard. There were a couple but I couldn’t afford them. Plus, I can always do RD Yale. I like Yale a lot 2.

@Multiverse7 I know but you can do a joint concentration at Harvard which was even more appealing to me than a double major. I am really interested in combing econ and compsci.

@MedSciBud I know my ACT is pretty low for Harvard. I do mean that I re-took it. I took it on Oct-22 so I still don’t have my results yet. I will keep you posted. Thanks!

Pursuing a joint concentration with CS is not as easy as you might imagine. You have to write a thesis on some topic that connects the two fields, plus you have to take the Honors track of CS. For these reasons, most joint concentrations with CS are with Mathematics. I know several kids who are doing a concentration in CS and a secondary(minor) in Economics but none that are attempting a joint concentration. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It’s just rare and pretty hard to do, imo. Good luck!

I love how you proved all these naysayers wrong! some of whom were deferred while you were accepted. Congratulations!
