Thanks, and I appreciate all input!!!

you definitely have a great shot; i would be suprised if you didnt get into atleast one ivy. the only possible weakness might be your unfocused ECs, but other than that looks really good. just write amazing essays

Great test scores and great gpa! What do you plan on majoring in in college?

Don’t get your hopes up, but you definitely have a shot.

Thanks guys!!! I am not really sure what I want to major on… I am interested in biology, math and business to a certain extent.

You have a good shot and your test scores are really great. It’s just a matter of luck and a great essay!

You seem like you’ve got thing under control, If i were you, i’d just make sure essays are strong - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1639715-chances-for-stanford-rea-will-chance-back.html#latest</a> chance me please?

I think you have stellar ECs and stats! Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia are reaches for anyone but you have a good shot.
University of Pennsylvania* - Low reach
Columbia University - Reach
University of Chicago - Low reach
UC Berkeley - Match
Princeton - Reach
Amherst - Match
Harvard - Reach
Cornell - Match
Dartmouth - low reach
John Hopkins - match/low reach
Duke - Match/low reach

I would focus on finding a few more safeties. Best of luck to you! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1640333-chance-me-for-yale-princeton-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Wow!! You have great ECs and stellar testing and grades. I’m assuming that you’re focusing on the biomedical field, so my only advice is to explore that further before senior year hits you. You could volunteer at a clinic or try research over the summer (emailing professors worked for me). Use those unique experiences to build your essays outside of the high school experience. Best of luck!

Wowza, you’re scores & gpa are awesome! Impressive extra curriculars too. I say you have a pretty good shot, as long as you write a really passionate essay. Good luck!

Thanks guys and I will chance all of you back ASAP. I’ve got a question… what about my EC’s stood out to you guys? BTW those are ALL the major accomplishments I have in my EC’s.

AIME and USACO.

@wannabefeynman I thought Math Club, SciOly,and LD were the most impressive, but thanks for the response. It would be great to hear more people’s opinions.

Your qualifications are like a college admissions counselors dream. Don’t listen to the people who say “unfocused ecs” its awesome that you have excelled in so many different areas!! I would you are a match or low reach for all of the schools, but no guarantee with any. Seems like it is basically a lottery just to get into schools like those today. Good luck! Chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1643241-chance-me-i-ll-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Being in math club is fairly common, so I valued the contests slightly more. Of course, that does not mean being in the math club does not matter. Especially since you are a officer, it shows some leadership and commitment.

Be careful of the advice you receive here. Do not be fooled into unrealistic thoughts like University of Chicago is a match.

I think you have a really good chance with your test scores and GPA! Just remember thought that the Ivys are super competitive, and they are considered reaches for everyone. So you should have at least 2 safety schools.

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1643262-chance-me-for-the-following-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Dagiehead:
Make sure you have at least 2 safety schools on your list. You would be foolish not to. CC has a long recent thread on those with strong academic profiles who got rejected from all the top schools they applied to.

No one on CC will be able to tell you if you’ll be accepted at any of the schools you’ve listed in your opening post.

If you spend a few hours on CC reading the “Decision Threads” for those schools, you’ll see applicants with stronger profiles than you who got rejected, as well as applicants with weaker profiles who got accepted.

Keep trying your hardest and reach wherever you can. But cover your safeties. There is a reason they’re called safeties.

Good luck.

@wannabefeynman Haha I always knew University of Chicago being a match was unrealistic.
@jpm50 This isn’t a complete college list, it is mainly composed of low reaches - reaches. I will definitely have safety schools. I was thinking UCSC and a few more of the lower tier UC’s maybe?

I have a one more question for you guys regarding my EC’s. Do you think my lack of volunteer work will hurt me much?

Thanks for the responses guys!

I do not think your lack of volunteer work will hurt too much. There is no “right” extracurricular activity, so not doing a certain one is not likely to harm your chances significantly. I think you should apply to schools with acceptance rates >60% as safeties, just in case. UCSC is definitely a match, but I think just to be sure you should apply to universities which are even easier to gain acceptance to.
