The admissions officer who came to my school said that they weren't looking at GPA this year because it's too subjective to the school and how they decide to calculate it. So other than my GPA how am I shaping up?

You seem like a good match for JMU. A lot of people at my school (I live in VA, so JMU is pretty popular) have went there and their record wasn’t as up to par like yours. That’s pretty interesting how they aren’t looking at GPA, though.

Thank you so much! Yeah, it is kind of weird, but it makes since. I live in VA too and this one school in my county inflates grades like crazy so their GPAs are all so much higher than the GPAs at my school. It wouldn’t be fair if someone from my school was up against a kid from that school.

The GPA thing is strange. I live in VA as well a lot of people at my school are applying to JMU. I’d say your SAT is a little bit low but your Extra curriculars and course rigor are very good. I would probably say JMU is a high match for you.

Chance me!

All your extra curriculars will definitely help. bring the SATS up though. but you have a good chance

Thanks! But my SAT is actually above their mean for the freshmen class of 2016. Plus my parents have spent a fortune on me taking the SAT (I’ve done it four times), so I’ll just take my chances. But thank you!

Are there any schools y’all wanted me to chance you for? Cause I did say I’ll chance back on the thread title :)
