Chance me for JHU, please?

I visited JHU in November after extensive research, and I've decided it's the school for me. I'm just not sure if I can get in. I'm a white female high school junior.

SAT superscore: 2280 C/// 750 CR/ 770 M/ 760 W
ACT single sitting: 35 C/// 35 E/ 34 M/ 36 R/ 35 S

My school doesn't use a 4-point scale for GPA's. My UW GPA out of 100 is about a 98.5; weighted, it is around 104.5
My school also does not rank, but I think it's reasonable to assume that I am in the top 10 out of 500

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your statistics and extracurricular activities are both good. However, I am wondering how you manage to do about 10 activities at once. That shows that you are unable to give a lot of commitment to them. Try to focus on a few of them instead. Good luck!

bump?

you’ll get in if you apply early decision, good chance RD too. Academics are very good (near top of class, great ACT, rigorous course load) and ECs decent enough (some depth of involvement, leadership). While ECs may weigh you down a bit they’re fine for a school like JHU esp. if you are going ED where they like demonstrated interest.

@Redheaded - Anyone telling you “you’ll get in” at a school like JHU with a 17% admit rate is doing you a disservice. Do you appear to be as good as any of the 3500 or so they will offer admission to this year? Sure, but no doubt there are a couple of thousand more out of the almost 21,000 that applied that also had credentials good enough. But since JHU knows that about 40% of the offers they make will be accepted and they only have about 1350 spaces to fill, they have to deny an offer to many great students. I also agree that your EC’s seem a bit wide and not obvious that you had a major commitment to more than one or two. I would emphasize the 4 you spent the most time with and play those up.

So do I think you have a great chance of being accepted, especially ED? Yes, I do, based on what we can see on here. I just don’t think it should be portrayed as a slam dunk.
