I am currently a Senior in Maryland. I have a 3.3 weighted/unweighted from 9-11 grade and a 3.75 unweighted and 4.2 weighted on my first marking period of 12th grade. I have a total of 16 AP/Honors (grade 9-12). My SAT was very low 1250 total (will retake in Dec, however I do poorly in those kind of test so I dont expect much better.

I am also a 4 year Varsity. I have a long list of volunteering activities and charitable involvement as well.

Are you guys sure? My SAT was very low about 1250 total (420,410,420) of 2400. I was told you have to have at least 1600 to get in those colleges.

My goodness… that SAT score is abysmal. A 3.75 unweighted GPA with 16 AP/honors classes shows that you’re obviously smart and above average, a 1250 does NOT correlate with that. You sure you didn’t have issues bubbling in the right spots? Maybe you got off at some parts and that tanked your score?

Have you tried to take the ACT? Some people do better on that test than the SAT. As far as SAT goes, I am not sure about the other schools on your list, but JMU only looks at CR and M scores. Not writing.

When I took the PSAT I did bad as well. I am planning to take the ACT but the lady that provided the PSAT at that time told me that I did bad in both, so score was the same.
I just get very stressed out and I cannot remember anything during the test, i totally blackout. I think my only option will be if one of those colleges will not take the SAT score into consideration. I did took a SAT class but I guess didn’t work out.
Thanks everyone for the response.
