Chance me for Johns Hopkins ED

<p>I am new to college confidential and am looking for input on my chances for various schools. I am a junior in high school and will be applying to JHU ED (my dream school), UNC-Chapel Hill, Northeastern,and University of Maryland EA, and William and Mary, Wake Forest, Cornell, NYU, and Syracuse RD. Please chance me, it would be greatly appreciated. </p>

<p>SAT 1: (superscored) Math: 760 Reading:650 Writing: 650 (total: 1410/2060). I might also take it again next year.
SAT 2s: Just took in June so I am waiting for results
ACT: Took in June so am waiting for results
Unweighted GPA: 3.8
Will have completed 8 AP classes and 18 Honors classes by the end of senior year. </p>

<p>Have long list of extra-curriculars including fencing , French Honor Society, National Honor Society, international Thespian Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, community service for my high school, girl scouts, and for a civil war re-enactment group (over 200 hrs total), etc.</p>

<p>I also have had several positions of leadership including fencing captain, French Honor Society President, in a selective peer leadership group at my school, Girl Scout Gold Award Candidate, and have a job. I have also won many awards.</p>

<p>Female from NY. I have no "hooks" (I am caucasian, both my parents attended college, etc.) I plan on becoming either a Mathematics or Statistics major. </p>

<p>I am getting recommendation letters from my AP Calc, AP Lang, and band teacher. Although I have not written my essay yet, I will most likely have a strong essay.</p>

<p>My main concern in the college admission process is that I have accumulated a few B's/B+'s on my report card. Freshmen and Sophomore year, I was bad social studies and science but this year got A's in both Physics and APUSH and hope to get A's next year in AP Chem and AP Macro as well. I have no idea how much of an impact that will have when I apply to colleges. If you could chances me it would mean so much. Thank you in advance!</p>

<p>I think Hopkins might be just a slight reach, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get in. Your GPA/test scores are okay, I think – SAT could be a little higher. But, what is more important (in my opinion) is that you try to find a hook of some kind this summer. Perhaps an internship in something pertaining to what you want to study. Just remember that schools like Hopkins are really looking for people with a story. GPA and test scores are important, but they will not get you in on their own.</p>
